Are educators just broken or am i using them wrong?
I am trying to have an educator for every month for each exhibit to crank out education score.

1) Is this overkill?

2)the real problem; my educators are always tired and overworked BECAUSE THEY STAND AROUND FOR A WHOLE MONTH BEFORE THEIR SHOW STARTS. It seems they will also sometimes start late, overrun into the next month, which then makes them late to the staff room to rest. My current setup only covers every other month and had 3 educators. Each educator does 2 shows a year, with SIX MONTHS between shows. This has got to be the cushiest job in existence yet they seem to "overwork" themselves and end up quitting.

I tried looking up the wiki but the wiki outright lies; "They will return to a staff room between talks if they have nothing else to do, to make sure they have energy for the next talk." Man I wish they did

Do I need 2 educators for each month so they can alternate talking and sitting every other sentence? Do I need to personally give foot massages to each of them when they are done? I'm being sarcastic but genuinely, what do I do?

I never use them, they're not needed to get 5 stars in education. To get that you just need to ensure there are boards and speakers covering every viewing area for your animals.

Indeed an educator is only certain to do three shows per year due to time it takes to go from one to the other and the time it takes for the show itself plus time for the staff to rest between shows. of course variables like distance traveled, training and workzone setup influence this as well.

Do you mean an educator per month for every habitat? Maybe there's simply not enough guests in your zoo to go to them all! But don't forget that your zoo makes money from people donating in the bins, and from all the many types of kiosk. It will make no money if the available guests are constantly trudging around to education lectures. But it's a wonder your educators have the energy with such high workloads.

Yes but each educator only had 3 kiosks each, eventually down to 2 and they still were quitting from overwork

YaBoiBeanz- Did you go into their employment tab and uncheck guided tours and roaming talks? Make work zone that just includes their animal talk points and staff room to cut down on the wandering around (granted not always works LOL)? Have their staff room with the perk that makes them less unhappy about being overworked? These are few things that came to mind.

I do wonder... Is this in franchise? And what difficulty level is it?
There is a career scenario that needs high education that is set up to make educators not do well if that is the zoo in question.

don't know layout of your zoo but... from my experience, how i build and how time work in Planet Zoo it's absolutely common that educators travel between staff room and education points 7 days and then 7 day back (for example) and it's pretty logical that if you give them too many education points and your layout is just bad so they need travel from one centralised part of zoo with staff rooms across long distances they will be tired (especially without staff training)...

When they were first introduced, every guest in the zoo would make their way to the next talk. which meant they never got to any in time, and guests spent all their time walking between them. Thankfully that glitch was fixed.

Sorry for bumping a week old thread but I didn't want to ignore you helpful people.

The problem, I found out, was that all my education points were too close to each other, causing the educators to constantly get stuck in traffic and thus always be tired.

I spread them out a bit (and trained my educators on how to walk AROUND large crowds, or whatever they get trained in)

Yeah, my normal M.O. was always to have educators doing one or the other and separated by their respective work zones. Exactly as you suggest. The wandering educators are always happy.

I always keep my EPs close to Staff Rooms for that reason. Checking the training was a solid idea though.

Lol so it was just one horde wandering from talk to talk? Yeah glad that was fixed.

Anyways, thanks for the help everyone!
