New Community challenge glitched?

I have already released 2 aardvarks at 4 stars during this challenge and did not count towards the total. The aardvarks were bought with CC and then released when they were 4 stars. Am I doing something something wrong or is the challenge glitched?

I've also had issues. I released some black rhinos, collared peccary, giant otter and they did not count.

Animals bought with CC do count in general.
But this challenge has issues again. Not every animal that should count actually does. Sometimes only five stars register, some grasland species don't at all 🤷‍♂️

Some advice for this challenge in general is to breed Collared Peccary like crazy and store them once they are adults in the animal storage. Once they reach 1500 Appeal, mass release them, and then restart the breeding process all over again. (If you also want to go for good stats, just keep the best of the bunch, and give the pairs new mates from the market, for perfect stats, I'd say you go for inbreeding between the best stats)
