Green Screen of death
I have a problem that when I play Planet Zoo, around 10-20 minutes into the game my whole Pc crashes and I get a green screen of death. This happened today about 4 times and only when playing Planet Zoo, not on other games. Theres also nothing specific I do when this occurs, its always random just a few minutes after playing. Does anyone have an idea on why this happens of what the cause of this may be? I read that it could be that my GPU is overheating but i looked at it while i was playing and it didnt go above 70°C.

Green screen.... Graphics crash. Causes, usually system running to hot causing automatic shut down.
Fixes, depends on computer being used. for laptops using a cooling pad helps. For all systems proper internal cleaning is usually required as is being certain that all air passages and vents are unobstructed. Most modern computers can take advantage of more detailed temperature monitoring apps to confirm if the system is indeed overheating.

Many decent PC cases have filters. Make sure they are cleaned. Including the one for the power supply. If no filters then the insides can start to look like the inside of a vacuum cleaner. Check the graphics card's fans for fluff. If the case has got fewer than 3 fans, add more. And a huge CPU heatsink with a big fan is always a good idea also. Laptops? Shudder.

Ok thanks for the replies. I'll try to clean my pc and let you know if it helped.

Also check for overclocking issues. Planet Zoo has a way of making aggressive overclocking become unstable.

Ah yes. Overclocking can cause many problems, and not really wise. A better CPU and motherboard is better.

And you have confirmed that you have the latest system drivers and windows update?
And you have verified game files lately?
Can you tell us about the computer? What are it's specs and how old is it? Specifically what is the power supply and how old is that?

Have you checked for bios updates on that system?

Looking at the typical power needed for that configuration you might simply be running out of power. 700 watts is right at the borderline...

Could be, but I doubt it. It never made a problem with any game I played.

If you look at Windows logs it will show what errors have occurred with those marked in red serious ones. You will have to look up the codes. Often Graphics cards will cause a black screen if they are faulty or getting to hot, and the fans on them will go in to overdrive. The PC will keep running as you can tell if you still hear the sounds.
