Best biome for first franchise zoo?

Hey guys,

this weekend I'd like to try out franchise mode for the first time (so far, I've only played the campaign/scenarios and sandbox).

Which biome do you think is the best and easiest for the first franchise zoo to get started overall with research and conservation credits? I know that breeding zoos are good to get tons of CC, but I'd like to play normally without having to rely on this method (it kind of feels like an exploit I personally wouldn't have any fun with).

i went with grasslands for my first one just for some temperature neutrality but except for that one i've been tending towards using animals that exist in the biome i've built in so i don't have to worry about the temperature needs of my animals.

The only biome I would not recommend for starting a franchise is tundra. Guest issues can be a real pain there. The most adaptable is probably temperate which means a wider range of species to work with. Other than that tidbit of info it clearly is desirable to open a zoo in each biome in one's franchise to get the full gamut of species. Given that research is shared in all franchise zoos, it's not a bad thing to have multiple smaller easy to manage zoos when starting out. And that's something that trips up a lot of new players, growing too fast and too big before getting to understand managing the zoo. And though it is tempting to get the big animals and carnivores they can make learning a bit of a challenge because of their enormous costs.
All that said, if one did well in the scenarios one should have learned a few lessons that make franchise a bit easier to jump into. So, go for it and enjoy the journey.

i am new to pz but my fried recomends grassland for teh basegame and temperate for a player with otehr packs

Thank you guys! I will start with a temperate biome then first and expand to other biomes with more extreme temperatures later. And yes, I will try to focus on smaller herbivores with good appeal.
