At my wit's end with Castle Myers crime requirement
IDK what I'm doing wrong at this point, but I cannot beat the last requirement to have a reporter come through with less than 8 crimes. Every path of the zoo is covered by security cameras. I have 6 fully trained security guards with the staff room bonus for detection rates. Crimes still tick up super fast and the reporter takes the longest, most time consuming route possible every time. I'm talking one end of the zoo to the other, then back again. Plus, the mount of crimes doesn't always reset when a reporter comes. It'll still show the same amount from last time and continue to tick up. I have to have about 3-4 reporters come through before it resets.
At this point I've sunk 10+ hours into this scenario and this is literally the last thing I have to do to beat it and I can't do it. Is there some trick to actually get this done? Do I have to flood my zoo with security guards??

Be sure to get guest happiness up. Happy guests = less crime.

Maybe more security guards. Are you cleaning up the crime areas?

THANK YOU that worked!! Had the added bonus of making my zoo way less crowded so the reporter could take their very long route a little quicker!

Thank you!! This was what I needed!! I also added a second Entrance at the bottom of the zoo, so tired guests were leaving sooner, rather than trekking back up the mountain to leave with their bad energy. Happiness and Energy instantly spiked up and my zoo quality went up a whole star. Less guests = less crime = less time for the reporter to get through and leave the zoo again.

There had been a bug where that didn't work - moving the entrance when I played it, prevented the reporter from ever arriving
Everything suggested the entrance should be at the bottom, including the thumbnail in the menu and the initial video

I ended up solving it by building everything at the top; and only justified that as a pass, because it was a bug blocking what felt like the correct way to do it

Might go back and have another go - but yes I remember the crime issue too - the crime count was always from the start of the zoo and didn't reset when a new reporter arrived, so got the security going from day 1 and quickly trained up the security guards to level 5 - below that, they'd chase criminals but never catch them, so the crime count still ticked up
