Losing Control of Mouse / Keyboard?
I've noticed this a few times now, and normally I found alt-tabbing out and back in fixed it. But recently it got so bad that I had to alt-F4 the game (which I couldn't fully because it asks me to save before quit - In Franchise mode)

TLDR; It seems something is stealing focus/control of my mouse and keyboard.

When I'm navigating around the zoo my camera will keep moving in the last direction pressed on it's own (even after key is released). I also noticed that the rotating camera with mouse also becomes extremely slow (as if sensitivity is extremely low).

Pressing the reverse of the movement direction stops the movement (counters is) and pressing the movement key in the same direction cancels the movement (it seems to act like a toggle - almost like sticky keys?)

Other keys also became gradually less responsive (rotate object, fine movement/rotation control, even esc/main menu)

As for the mouse trying to rotate the camera was extremely slow (and would also lock when pressing MMB - again sort of like sticky key but for a mouse button). Additionally I had to spam LMB to select certain UI options (such as quit the game / confirmation)

No idea what caused it, but it is infurating and my 'pseudo-fix' (alt-tabbing) clearly8 doesn't work all the time as I Alt-F4'd after the last instance this happened.

Be certain you have the latest software for your mouse. Also be sure that other apps are not running in the background. Many have noted this occurs more frequently when switching to other apps like youtube and back to the game. Many other users note that disabling steam overlay or emptying steam cache can also help reduce these events.

So you can't play this game with YT (or any other app?) running in the BG?!

One may but it sometimes causes issues on some computer setups. It kind of has to do with how Planet Zoo Initializes mouse functions on resume. It doesn't occur every time and it doesn't occur to every player. Suspicion is it might be related to certain mice and their support software. Thus the first thing to check is said support software for updates.
