Invalid Destination

I spend two days designing a monkey forest and when I finally put three chimps in there I get this message - invalid destination. No explanations but I assume I have to start over.

This could be a few different things. First confirm the habitat gate is actually attached to the path system. If the habitat is not in a workzone, ensure there is a caretaker not in a workzone to deliver the animals. If it is in a workzone then ensure there is a caretaker in that workzone. If there are buildings in the habitat be sure not to click on the building, it can cause the mouse click to get confused. remove the trade facility from any workzone it might be in, this too gets the logic confused. If all that checks out, be sure the barrier is a closed loop. sometimes the post don't quite get connected when we place them. There may also be a section that has habitat perimeter unchecked when it should be checked.

This is going to sound silly, but it also happens if you build it while paused and trying to put the animals in while paused. Technically, it hasn't been built yet according to the game so you can't do it yet. Did you check if you were running the game while pausing? :)

it's like declaring war in stellaris. game doesn't know what's going on yet.

also gotta make sure you have vets/keepers/caretakers and that they're on the ground, not in the air

You think 700 hours is bad .. I'm at 1700 hours and I have times when I wonder why it happens .. and then realise I am still paused rofl.

That could be why right there... Heading to find out...

Another reason is that the gate is facing INTO the habitat, not to the outside. I've had that happen, anyway. Or is it attached the right way and facing out, and is attached to the path? I've also thought it was attached to the path, then deleted the path next to the gate, replaced it with the type of path I had leading up to it, and it worked just fine!
