I loved how you could have aquatic shows in ZT. Would be great to have that here as well.

Seems to me it's extremely clear which side they took.

Three times lol. I dont agree with your reasoning. As this game is pure fiction and each and every other animal should then be excluded from the game as they should live freely in the wild and they are not in a zoo. Why would you have no problem with lions and polar bears in a habitat and cry about adding cool cetecaens in a GAME.

Do you even think or read before you write an answer?
Also your statements seems to be very conflicted...
On the one hand you say that it's good to put Dolphins in Aquarias because they are easy prey for predators and Aqua Shows IN REAL LIFE serve educational purposes and are important and now you state that animals should live free in the Wild?

Also I didn't even cry once about adding dolphins or wales to the Game - on the contrary! Just because of this educational purpose without any animal beeing harmed or stripped away from their freedom I'd love to see Whales and Dolphins in the GAME and not in Aquarias!
Yes, this GAME is pure Fiction and so i dont have a problem with ANY animal in it now or in the future patches.
I DO have Problems with real animals beeing locked away for bullsh*t reasoning like "protect from killer whales" to be perfectly clear!

Awesome! We agree on that they should be added to the game then. Sad to see you don't have an answer to my questions, but its all good. At least we both want them to be added.

Fair point. If that's the case it's a prime example of pure hypocrisy if you ask me. As if all other animals are valid to be held captive and marine life is not :steamfacepalm:

Completely agree! That would literally be so awesome. Hosting shows with the new graphics. Cmon that would be a dream come true. I lived for the Zoo Tycoon Marine Life DLC :steamhappy:

honestly these planet zoo games try to be as realistic as they can so doing whales and sharks wouldnt fit in as its a zoo based game and aquariums is where you would see dolphins and things like that. so it wouldnt fit in with the games overall theme.

I disagree. At least in the case of my local zoo, the animals they have are there because they're injured and can't return to the wild, or their wild no longer exists or exists safely for them, or they are part of a breeding and conservation program to try to keep them from extinction.

There is no ethical way to keep something like a whale or dolphin in a regular zoo.

There are places like the Dolphin Research Center down in the florida keys that can care for sick and injured dolphins and sea lions. Their pens are in the ocean and once they are healthy they have the ability to leave if they wish. (Most of them stay.)

Weeki Wachee does similar for manatee. (been there a dozen times, still have to google the spelling every time)

These animals cannot be cared for properly in any way in a zoo. And since this game focuses on realism and education, there is no reason to add them here.

The only sad thing here is that you are PRO Aqua Parks and locking Animals away for "Educational Purposes" or "Protection" in RealLife while trying to make a point for adding Dolphins/Wales to a Game using exactly my Questions regarding other Animals in Captivity I already posted Weeks ago in this and multiple other Discussions, Mr. Copy/Paste Warrior!

Well, in another Frontier game, JWE2, we can build a lagoon for some really, really, REALLY huge marine reptiles. How is that different from building a similar enclosure in PZ? It’s a game anyway.

....the game about dinosaurs isn't a game focused on animal welfare and conservation? Does this actually have to be explained?

Dolphins and whales in PZ.... I guess you would also prefer Tobacco shops and shady dealers :-D

It's not a matter of taking sides. it's a matter of what has decided to be right. Look up why. As to other animals in zoos, if they were not there they would become extinct quite fast. But many of them are no more intelligent than a cow, and it's OK to have fields full of those, it seems. Sea mammals are more intelligent than your pet dog, but need far far more room. And PZ is not a game, it's a sim.

rolls eyes , this discussion is pretty useless, and it is a game, type simulation.
where were the time when young people got properly educated?
carnie2 Mar 13, 2024 @ 5:07am
It's a simulation of a real life kinda zoo environment. It is educational, and as such, it has responsibilities. That's why it matters, which animals that is available, and the conditions we can give them.
