Restaurant seating

How are you able to put seating up on the top of the restaurant and get people to go up there? I've tried to place a path to get there but I just can get it to work.

Are you adding the stairs (path) in the building or outside of the building?

You don't need paths for the restaurant seating to work, the guests "teleport" to and from the seats, same with the viewing domes

What tables the guests use is random from the tables that are linked to the restaurant. You did link the tables, didn't you?

you always need to place a door on the side of the restaurant in order for guests to get to their seats... dont ask me why, its so stupid :D

OK, I placed the restaurant then I placed a table on top of it and tried to get the path to link to the table. And yeah I now know it doesn't work like that.

A path need not be used to go from table to restaurant. We simply open the restaurant's info panel and find the part where it says link tables. when we click that we can link all nearby tables or click on specific ones to associate them with the restaurant. We may do the same by just clicking the table.

You don't need to download this but below is a link to a restaurant I placed on the workshop, the last 2 screenshots show the process for linking tables, there are also step by step instructions in the BP description which might help you if you are still having problems. The method works for both floor level and raised tables up to a max of 20 and as long as they are in range of the restaurant entrance.
