Middle Of Map
Heya everyone,

Was wondering if there is a way to figure out the middle or at least roughly figure out the middle of the map?

I plan on making a semi floating island/island around water zoo, with and island in the middle with smaller islands with animals all around it, hints why roughly about the middle.

This is in franchise.

Thanks.

You could put a large, easily visible object (like one of the red "art shapes") in each corner of the map. Then zoom out so that you can see the whole map, and you should get a rough idea of where the center is.

Simply make a ruler from wall sections. The map is 1000 by 1000 meters from the map outline if that helps.

This is what I tend to do. My recent grid zoo design was all laid out by placing wall segments as markers and then removing them once I'd placed the desired items.

A simple ruler overlay tool would be incredibly useful in this game.

Yeah, it can be really handy to mark out areas for planning before one commits a bunch of time creating then having to move things.

Do you mean in the Sandbox? ) I have no idea about a franchise zoo, I don't play that option, is that Sandbox sized?) And just 1000 x 1000 mtrs? It looks a lot bigger than that! One day I will own a PC where I can build a zoo that actually fills it all. As if.
Anyway. May I ask why you need to start in the centre? I just start from the default entrance. Often because on the lumpy maps there's often a big hill in the centre. Often I do mark the corners with a giant tree.

yup, one square kilometer.

I have always been surprised that there's no grid overlay option in PZ. Although I don't think I have ever built a square habitat. My zoos grow 'organically'.
