how to breed?
so im trying to breed as many lions as i can (shoutout to whoever put them up just now for 100)

once they breed their cubs (2 or so)
should i move the cubs to another habitat and sell off the mom or keep her and hope she breeds more?

cause right now idk how i got such a good lion for cheap (probably same good person above). so i wanna maximize as much cubs as i can without running into inbreeding issues later on

thanks

I would move the cubs to another enclosure, with birth control as soon as you can do it. Then just watch for alerts about them maturing and fighting, then decide what you want to do with them.

You can't Adam and Eve it without some inbreeding. However inbreeding only goes as far as the direct siblings, so if you can get 2 pairs inbreeding then in theory the children of those two pairs will be able to breed together (assuming they're fertile).

Really though if you want to start a lion factory you'll need to buy a couple more in order to mate with those cubs once they're old enough.

But yes, if you move the cubs out then the mother will probably breed again, so if you're just looking to maximise the CC return from this one breeding pair then that would make sense.

Male lions will fight, but they can have a lot of female mates. But to breed a 100 you need to move them out when matured, and you cannot put male matured ones in the same habitat, even if they are siblings, they will fight. It sounds as if you need many habitats.

what if i keep one main male lion to breed and any that are cubs as soon as they turn (adult male) i put them in trade or sell for cc. then just focus on as many female lions in the market?

i just need cc so i can get the animals i want. realize 50 of habitats are mainly the cash only animals. i have barely any pandas, lions, giraffes, elephants.
hoping this method will get me some quick cc so i can buy the rest of the animals just for viewing

A major tip is to use the compare mates tool to select breeding pairs. Often times two animals with great stats produce lesser rated animals than two good stat animals can. Also having 3 or 4 breeding pens can keep a good diverse blood line so that you can match up animals to get the best quality stock.

How I breed Lions:
One Male and up to three females. All Offspring will be put on contraceptives in the animal tab and go into the trade center the moment they are old enough. All male offspring goes directly on the market, I keep the females. Now I let the original breeding group breed until they are too old or die. I always buy a new male from the market with the best genetics and give him up to three of the best females offspring from the trade center and leave the "old" females in as well, if there are any left. I sell all (female and male) offspring that is below those three in their genetics. I repeat this until I only have green stats and get a solid amount of 100%.

If the male survives the females I release the male and do as before. New male, best female offspring.

Most of my males get release after the first round of the market, if they don't get bought. You still get a good amount of cc and soon swim in more points than you can spend.

i set my aging to 5x slower. how often do you see them mate? and how many cubs usually?

is like 2 in a lifetime or more? people said if the cubs are in the same area they may not breed (idk if its true)

If you researched them with your vets and they have 100% fertility you will get around 4 cubs normally. They also mate around 4 times, sometimes 6, depending on how long they are alive. And it is true, if you remove the babies, the mothers receive faster, but it does not make a big impact, so I leave the babies in with the parents. I already drown in lions fast, so there is no need to speed up the process. If you go to x5 aging, you will also see way less breeding going on, since they only breed every so often. Aging and breeding is bound together, so let's say they breed ones a year, they also only breed ones a year in x5 aging, it just takes five times so long to do it.

Thank you, thank you for asking this question. I am going to keep subscribed to this, you all gave such helpful advice.

I set up 4 lion habitats.
Each one has one male and several females. A soon as a cub is born they go on birth control. When they mature, birth control is turned off and the males get sold and the females move one enclosure to the right to prevent mating with their father (inbreeding). If a male cub has really good genetics I save him in the trade center to replace a habitat's alpha male when they get to old and change their name to note which habitat they came from.

They only get put one habitat to the left of where they came from to avoid running into their sisters and mating with them(inbreeding). Females and alpha males get sold when they hit around 11.5 as they still have a bit of fertility and thus market value left. If you wait until they are 13 or so and they become infertile you have to pay to get rid of them or wait until they die.

As my number of females increased, I got picky and started selling any female that didn't have all green genetics as soon as she matured. Fewer offspring in the short term but better genetics and high prices in the long run.

This is how I do it, too. Simple and works a gem!

If all you are after is fast cash or green points then animals such as lions are not the way to go. Try some of the exhibit creatures. some breed very fast with lots and lots of offspring, and the endangered ones are valuable.

exhibit is only good for cash though.

but yes if you want to farm cc then better use animals who breed and raise quickly. I have a breeding program with polar foxes and get some thousands cc quick. Not the best animal for that though, animals like red foxes are much better.

any better animal suggestions for cc farming are appreciated though ^^
