It sucks having such a severe phobia, sorry!
SOME ANIMALS IN THE REAL WORLD ARE AFRAID OF SPIDERS BUT MOST ARENT
YOU CAN GUESS THAT CHIMPS AND GORILLAS CAN BE SCARED OF THEM.
Just a bit more info, building on what moorwiesen said, the only way you won't see a picture of a spider is by not opening the Exhibit menu - which would also mean no frogs, newts or (with DLC) bats, butterflies, terrapins or axolotls. What hasn't been made clear is the impact that will have on your game.
Building Exhibits is often an objective in the scenarios section of the game (which doubles as the tutorial levels), so that entire section of the game would be no go as you would have to open the Exhibit menu to progress.
Exhibits are a very cost effective way of starting your zoo in Franchise mode, where money management is key. This would make starting a zoo much tougher (Franchise is kind of a 'career' mode version of the game)
Which would leave you really with just the Sandbox mode where the only consequence would be the reduction in building options for you. Its still a great way to experience the game, but just be aware that of what you're missing out on before getting involved.
One other thing - visitors can buy a variety of large costume hats from merchandise stores which they wear while walking around your zoo - one of these is a 'spider hat' - though on this occasion, you can remove these items from sale once you build the hat shop.
Amazonian Centipede
Boa Constrictor
Brazilian Spider
I couldn't give the OP a guarantee that they would never be greeted with a thumbnail of a spider on the first page.
Some phobias can be very extreme and often irrational. I know of a person who cannot look at similar sized holes in a line, even as just a picture. Some people break out in to rigid cold sweat. Myself, I have a fear of tigers. But not if they are behind bars.
But to try & help you - you can filter what exhibit critters that you want available. I think there are about 4 spiders in the zoo right now? Two Brazilian spiders, goliath birdeater, and the Mexican red knee, so filter those out and you wont see them for sale.
