Indian Elephant Destroying Habitat Wall (Fence).
I was playing the career scenario of the Nevada EcoZoo and made a habitat for a couple of Indian Elephants. There was more than enough room for them and everything else they needed, it just didn't have water because in that scenario you can't modify the water. The Indian Elephant asks for a wall (fence) 2 meters high and level 4 resistance. I put up that red brick wall (level 5 resistance) and then switched to thick glass (level 4 resistance), leaving a column of red brick between each glass.

Well, although the thick glass has a resistance of 4, as it says in the zoopedia of the Indian Elephant, the Elephant stood in front of the wall breaking the glass repeatedly.

Is it a bug or is some information somewhere wrong? Maybe the Elephant needs level 5 walls of resistance and the current information from zoopedia is wrong, maybe the glass is not level 4 despite being listed that way or maybe it is level 4 even but is functioning as a level 3. Anyway, does anyone know what might have happened?

U HAVE TO USE ELECTRIC FENCE AND NOT GLASS

The key word is resistance, animals like elephants will still attempt to break walls regardless of the walls resistance level. I expect that to was adjusted for more escapes post update 11.

So they will always attack the walls and cause damage to them, which the mechanics will need to repair, regardless of whether they are level 1 or level 1 million? And the tendency is for this behavior to worsen in the next uptades?

Well, after I put up all the red brick habitat wall (level 5), he stopped attacking. Now I have raised the height of the walls and put windows, so far they have not attacked.

Normally if they are happy they will not break out. Maybe being watched by crowds is upsetting them?

No, there are a lot of people watching them, but they are being at the top of a hill, far away from the wall that they broke, which is in a very distant and deserted place in the zoo, an area that I am still beginning to build. They did this several times when there was absolutely no one watching them from this particular area. It is worth remembering that the female never did anything.

This all reminds me of the time my Bear just decided to fight with the female for no reason.

Some times the game throws curve-balls just to keep you on your toes. But there are the occasional bugs. I sometimes get warnings that some animal is fighting due to lack of space, often bears, sometimes the big cats, and they are asleep.

My elephants broke straight through a concrete wall a few days ago. I did notice though that it was shortly after I'd upgraded a stretch of wall from a glass one and an elephant had knocked a part of it down. I think they "store up" a bit of barrier destruction, so if you recently upgraded the barrier from a lvl 3 to a lvl 4 then they might knock a couple down before the game updates.

I use red brick walls for my elephant pens, making the walls larger and adding the windowed option on the red bricks. that way you get large glass sections while having the red brick resistance.

He ended up destroying a red brick (lvl 5) with glass windows as well.

I have only ever used electric fencing for the Indian Elephant.

A steep sided moat can work, as long as you still use a barrier around it. The nul one is ideal for that. Just make sure there's a section of land where you can place a brick wall for a keeper gate.

I used a glass wall for an African elephant once, and the bull smashed sections down, but then just stood in the hole trumpeting. Then it just wandered back in. Don't forget that you can click on the remaining barrier to call a mechanic, and they come and mend it.

try to use rocks at bottom if using wood or glass :D
