Planet Zoo vs Planet Coaster
Say I like both themes, which is a better game overall and easier to get into for a chill experience? Thanks.

I have played both since their launch. For someone who likes both themes, I recommend Planet Zoo.

I personally prefer Planet Zoo. It's a more immersive experience and the gameplay feels deeper and more fun. I like caring for all my zoo animals. Also, you get a feel of progression with your conservation points in Franchise Mode.

planet zoo is far more chill to play, the whole animal experience just feels better compared to the rather complex and busy atmosphere of rollercoasters in planet coaster

I would say planet zoo has more microtasks management that fills your playtime

I play Zoo more, but I LOVE building coasters! Putting "bad guys" in a timeout on the path next to the ticket gate I place INSIDE the habitat for power is SO satisfying to me!:happynippy:

PZ is far better. More of a Sim than a game. I got bored quite fast with PC because building rollercoasters is too strict. It's hard to build ones the same as real ones without it saying they are too fast or too high G, or whatever.

planet coaster is more chill for me but i think you have to look what you wanna do. both games can be really tricky if you go into building detailed animal enclosure but also the same with great and complex coasters. but in both games you also can build a simple and relaxed zoo/coaster wich works without much of your doing so you can focus on building some really nice suroundings

The two games appear to be similar but they each require a bit different kind of thinking. One could argue that building and interface are more developed in Planet zoo and that one is more involved with managing the entire game. Planet coaster tends to be more of a challenge to engineer rather than just build aesthetic scenes and immersive parks. So to each their own for what they want in a game experience with the thought that the two games are indeed different and cannot be compared one-to-one.

Thanks for your replies guys, much appriciated.

I decided to buy Planet zoo ultimate come spring sale, I feel a bit overwhelmed by how in depth management looks to me (since I'm casual) but I guess it will be worth it.

Once a player gets a handle on things management isn't too big of an issue till one's zoo gets really big.

Anyone else experiencing the game crashing when you try to load it? If not anyone got any advice on how i can fix the problem. Thanks :)

@Misa there is much help for you. many streamers made fantastic tutorials how to make a good start you can get much help there. the other thing is the really good tutorial ( if you can call it so^^ ) if you play the scenarios. step by step you will get bigger things to manage there so you got a hang of how to manage a zoo. for building testing and so on you can use the sandbox mode which is pretty brilliant cause you can save blueprints there which you can use in the franchise mode later. there is pretty much help for beginners and a good community. so wish you a good start in the game ;)

@Misa. You've got a lot of good answers here and from my perspective I think you'll enjoy PZ. I actually purchased PC during a sale after having had PZ for a while and also fall into the category of preferring building zoos and the animal management. I'll add the caveat that I do want you to be aware there is a learning curve for the game. If you encounter a struggle with the tutorials, remain calm and post any questions you may have here, if a search of the forums doesn't give you an answer. There are many with experience on these forums who have helped me greatly. The game is well worth that learning curve. :)

I was glad to see that purchasing the Ultimate Edition falls within your budget. That is what I did. If it's possible, that is the most bang for the buck. Yes, do wait for a sale. Please be sure, though, that your computer lies within, or exceeds, the recommended specs for the game, not minimum. With all the DLC that is included, the game will be resource hungry. :) Welcome in advance to the wonderful world of Planet Zoo!

You could just add both to your wishlist and get them on sale.

Planet Coaster is great in its own aspect and theme. But they did this one so right and so many things better than Planet Coaster. I went back after not playing 3/4 years and it just seems so different in terms of building and freedom. I like zoo too cause you get connected with the animals as they come n go
