Lion
Hey,

I have the problem that my lions always break out. With the concrete barrier and a height of over 3 meters, the lions should not be able to escape but they do. What am I doing wrong?

Have you checked the heatmap, to see WHERE they escape at? Are any climbable things close to the barrier?

make sure you dont have any enrichment near the barriers or any climbable objects near the barrier whether its inside or outside - things like wooden poles or fences outside the habitat can allow an animal to escape

Outside the habitat? but would they not have to be able to jump the fence to reach them? But when PZ was new, a bug allowed many animals to randomly walk through fences as if they did not exist! The bug was fixed a while ago though.
3 Meters is not really too high for the big cats to get over, lions can jump 12 feet. And they can jump a very long distance also, around 36 feet. So anything close by they can get onto could allow them to jump on to and over the wall. Even a hill. Some of the other big cats can jump a lot further. They are very long when at full stretch!

Click on 1 of your adult lions. Then go to radar map of traversable area for them. It will show any escape areas. I had an escape with a jaguar who jumped on top of their habitat shelter, to the top of the fence, top of an outside exhibit and then on to the ground. Mayhem ensued. ;) Also I had a large lion enclosure that I kept getting animal escape messages for lion cubs. They weren't out of the enclosure but it happened every time they used a climbing ramp in the middle of the enclosure. Larger cats can jump way farther than you would think.

The current version of the game has the escape routines set to be more challenging. Yes, climbable objects outside the barrier and in jump range can cause escapes even with a proper height barrier. Also the height of the terrain outside the barrier within jump range can cause escapes. often if we have an object an animal can leap onto those items need to be beyond jump range from the barrier. It seems these escapes are more common for all the big cats but other leaping species do it as well. If your barrier is on a slope this means the barrier will need to be higher to block escapes and items will need to be clear of the barrier.

At least it's not like Jurassic World where the creatures escaped so often it was unplayable!

Hard to make money when the guests keep getting eaten, and most of the creatures, and having to pay to rebuild walls.
