Reduction of people in habitas
Hii, I bought the classic game this week and I was wondering if theres any way to reduce the amount of people in habitat? (when you make it open for guests) when theres not a lot of people its perfect for my lemurs cause otherwise theres not good view on them, however, when the zoo gets crowded the animals are stressed
is there any way to make a maxium people allowed in habitat or any way to solve this issue/make a good view on small animals without people entering the habitat?

You could perhaps try lining the walkthrough path with one-way glass?

And adding the security signs that say quiet please. And if you have them, screening plants in the enrichment tab.

I have noticed that screening plants etc., don't seem very effective, when they should be. Being in the Sandbox I just turn Stress off. :) Oh, they don't just get stressed when people are in with them, they get stressed when being watched from outside as well. Try the one way glass, making sure it's the right way. They get stressed if they can hear the people also, so those signs that says Quite are also useful. Too be honest, it may be best to not allow people in with creatures that become stressed. Most infants do.

Do I have to do a research for one way glass..? Thank you for the tips too btw!

Welcome to Planet Zoo; it is a fun game. There are three types of one-way glass in the game. If you are playing in Sandbox, you do not have to research. If you are playing in Challenge or Franchise you have to research the one-way glass barrier by using a mechanic. The construction type is immediately available in all modes; just type "one way" in the search box and it will bring up the various sizes. There are pros and cons to the three types of one way glass. If you use the barrier one way glass, and it is not a part of the habitat barrier circuit, just uncheck the "habitat perimeter" so it will not deteriorate.

Yes, for one-way barrier glass, it's a researched item. There are some in the buildings that I think are not. to reduce the number of guests, one can often achieve good results by making the path one entry only. This works by making it a destination rather than a path to other places. Also the quiet signs do work, use them liberally. Just wish we could recolor them...

It would be nice if we could recolor them; like most things I hide them in scenery or underground and then stick a home made single sign at the front entrance.

All but the netting barriers can be converted to the glass types, even the hedge! and some already are glass with the one way option. Some barriers can also be colour changed. Scroll to the bottom of the options to see which can. It's a shame there are not more barrier type options though. Perhaps to match some of the buildings? How about an aztec one for example?

We just have to be creative with building pieces and scenery using the null barrier.

I don't have the patience for using the architectural stuff. And some has no clipping applied to it. It's as if they don't exist.

I'm not clear on what is meant by screening plants, could you explain? I thought it meant just putting in plants that the animal can hide behind, but you say it's in the enrichment tab?
Just Kevin Feb 4, 2023 @ 5:34pm
Basically it's anything an animal can hide in or behind. And if you click on an animal you have placed in a habitat you will see a tab with a leaf on it. click that. That shows you the type of plants (and rocks) the animal approves of. Click those options and a box opens at the bottom full of stuff. But all the same, you will get constant animal is stressed warnings because the animals are stupid! And/or slow! so rarely hide. When you have youngsters in a habitat it's best not too allow walk throughs at all. The zoopedia lists the animals that get stressed.

Abetterolive - While one way glass if the best way to reduce stress, if you still want to try an open walk walk through you can use the animals' needs to help reduce their stress. Besides placing the signs, have the water, food, and shelter areas behind rocks/plants whatever as long as the guests are not able to view the animals. This forces the animals to reduce their stress every time they eat, drink or sleep. Leaving toys in the open area will force them to
be seen by the guests.

I limit my walkthrough habitats to animals listed as "Confident". They say that "Shy" animals are easily stressed out, but like the OP I found that "Neutral" animals stress out too (no matter what I did to alleviate it). Instead, I made normal habitats that are only 4 deep and put one-way glass in the walls. People can still see the animals fairly well then.

Almost all the offspring of many creatures get stressed. It's often best not to allow walk-through until they are adults, and by then the males will possibly start to fight! Or you will get a warning they are overcrowded.
