Grid Path Placement Slow?
Does anyone else have an issue with placing a path on the grid that it just places down each very, VERY slowly? Or could that just be me? I'm genuinely not sure why it's like this but it's frustrating and very time consuming. I would use the normal path but it doesn't align properly or fill in the gaps like I want it to.
Any helpful advice would be graciously appreciated!

Edit: So from the looks of things, it's more or less just my PC having a harder time keeping up with the path system since it's older, so I'll be taking the advice given and upgrading my PC properly when I'm able to! Thank you guys for the input! ^^

very slowly? usually slow path placement is due to your computer reaching the limit but if normal path works fine thats weird. Could depend how big this grid is exactly

If it is slowing down extreme, pause the game while building. The path gets calculated all the time for the visitors and your employees, so when you place a new part while the game is running, it will take a lot of calculation. Instead pause the game, place the path and the game can calculate the new path "in one piece"

I don't use grids, but when my zoos are huge that can slow down building paths and habitat barriers. Pausing helps while you do it. Pausing is not just slow, it's a dead stop!

Does this happen in all zoos or just one in particular?

It happens in all zoos, so I was wondering if it was an in-game thing or if my PC miiiiight be in need of an upgrade.

It may definitely be that my PC is getting pretty old so I would have to guess it was that. I was just wondering if it had been happening to anyone else! :> Thank you for the input!

And you have done the basics? Verify game files and check for updates on windows and drivers? And your computer exceeds minimum spec as listed on the store page?

Path placement is not the same as existing paths. The game has already worked out crowd control for those, but it has to work it out for new paths, as you lay them, so placing them can slow down, and as suggested, you need to upgrade your PC.

Yeah my PC is capable of running the game just fine, even with mods added in. It just seemed that adding paths via the grid system was the sole cause of... for lack of a better word "Slow input" upon placing each square down. I'm going to be upgrading my PC in a month or so, and hopefully it'll be able to fix this little slowdown :)

That does make sense! I just didn't know if it was supposed to take more than a few seconds before the path actually registered in game. Thank you for the input! :>

I'll definitely be upgrading my PC as soon as I'm able to. Poor thing really needs it.

It can take a while before guest AI works out that new paths have been placed! It can be quite instant if joining two very close by paths, but long new ones, around new habitats for example, may take some time before the crowds realise it is there. Although apparent popularity of some animals can make the crowds gather faster. It all seems to be a bit random at times. But sometimes, as a zoo is loading up, it will regenerate the path map. I also always use the widest paths, and often two side by side joined at intervals.
