Education signs not working?

I'm having an issue where when i click on the education signs for habitats to show what animal is in the enclosure, nothing shows up. it just shows me the basic things i can do to the object (edit group, move, delete etc). No idea why this is happening and it didn't happen last time I played.

Does it go through the motions of showing you what animal you can assign to them, but nothing happens? It's not a problem I have ever seen.

Did you actually click on play after placing the animal? You need to have the animals running around in the habitat to choose them for the education.

Be sure to un-pause the game between placing the animal and the education screen.
I have seen a couple reports of this but do not know exactly what is going on.

Good point grampers! The signs have to know what's in the habitat before the education signs and speakers will work. Place the animal unpaused so the game knows what's in there. Then pause to sort out education, if you want to do it before guests come to look. I also name the habitat. Species in it and what zone.
