Guests turning an running at the entrance to habitat with guest access

I've built a habitat (it is the only habitat in my zoo) where guests should be able to walk through. I so somewhere else that it might be because they have nothing to do on the other side, so I put shops on the other side. But they're still just turning as soon as the gates open and leaving the zoo every time.

You do have pathing in the habitat, not just the gates?

Yes, sorry. I have paths going through the habitat.

If they turn, run and leave the zoo, the animal you chose is dangerous and scares the visitors.

If you only have the one habitat in your zoo, the guests will leave by the shortest route since there is nothing else to see. Put at least an exhibit at the other end of the walk through (outside the habitat) so they have something more to see.

The Red Deer is not a walkthrough animal. That is why the guests get scared and run home. You can find that information in the Zoopedia under "Species Data": Can Guests enter habitat? No / Yes

It can be confusing when you look at an animal's stats and it allows walk through, but also that it benefits from sharing with another animal. But, make sure the other animal also allows walk through.

Not dumb, just a little unaware. So many things to keep track of in the game....

Interestingly though, some of the animals it says are not walk through, in some zoos they are, and even in the petting section. Usually though there is often a keeper with them.
