These worked on my old laptop which was minimum spec and gained nearly 20-30 fps by following the guide
:((( I tried all these. Not work for me. I notice that its have the same ~20-30FPS on low with 1280x768 and Ultra setting with 1900x1080
PZ doesn't perform well on some systems with integrated graphics. It has to do with how the graphics share the main system memory.
In settings the main things that should make a big change are reflections, shadows anistropic filter choice. (in that order)
But it's a puzzle that my old i7 PC with a mid-range graphics card does not seem to have any problems running PZ with out messing with the graphics settings. What I wonder is, do people also have a dozen windows open in the background? Power being eaten by something other than PZ? A PC full of spywear and stuff? A billion cookies?
Here's a story. Years ago a friend of mine's business PC ground to a halt. I had a look at it. It seemed his night staff were viewing porn on it and it was loaded with auto-dialling parasites (apparently dialling places in Asia at £2 an hour!!). (In the days of dial-up modems this was.) So it was also costing him a suspicious and puzzling fortune.
Took hours to remove that lot, a few at a time, keep rebooting in Safe Mode.
Btw I refunded the game, had contacted the devs and customer service web but no response. And the web seems dead too.
Thanks for your advices guys
Any tips to improve FPS? Do performance mods/tweaks already exist?
Since I want to create a bigger zoo again, I could need every boost. Can you show less guests but keep the actual number? I remember that you can limit guests overall, but that doesn't work for me since I want to play Franchise
EDIT: Forgot to mention my system: RTX 3070, i5-10600k, 2x 16GB DDR4 RAM, Windows 11, 1080p
All you can do is go through your building and uncheck "climbable". Thats about it. Even that "coveted" DX11 -> DX12 upgrade will net you no more than 2FPS. There isn't much that can be done. This game is very well optimized and when you build a zoo large enough your computer struggles you've just simply exceeded the limits of your hardware. There is a reason games with large worlds and many things have aggressive LODs and culling. But when your game objects act as boundaries and you want to retain the ability to see the whole map, aggressive LODs and culling are problems not solutions. There is a natural push and pull between performance and game functionality/quality. This is the cost of complete control.
The real fix is upgrading that ancient CPU.
