Any tips/mod/config to increase the FPS guys?
Bought the game yesterday, the performance is poor. No matter what setting I set (superlow or ultra), it just keep running around ~20-30FPS on the Turtorial.

Can someone give me some advices to increase the performance please!

My Specs:
16Gb - I5 1235U - GTX 1050 4Gb

Don't let anything run in the background for a start. Check your temp folders. Empty the cache etc etc.. The tutorial games are very small zoos, so I have no idea why your performance is slow. And what FPS should it run at? My 6 year old PC is an 17, but apart from that, has almost the same set up as yours. But I have no idea what FPS it runs at! Never looked. Don't know how to!

your graphics card is slightly in the low end for the game (according to one of the game requirement websites i use) but you should be getting higher than 20fps in the tutorial missions. A couple websites do have some tips on how to increase fps like this - https://errorfixer.co/how-to-fix-planet-zoo-fps-lag-stuttering-crashing-drops/

These worked on my old laptop which was minimum spec and gained nearly 20-30 fps by following the guide

:((( I tried all these. Not work for me. I notice that its have the same ~20-30FPS on low with 1280x768 and Ultra setting with 1900x1080

With those specs, I wonder if that computer is using an integrated graphics solution...
PZ doesn't perform well on some systems with integrated graphics. It has to do with how the graphics share the main system memory.
In settings the main things that should make a big change are reflections, shadows anistropic filter choice. (in that order)

Don't forget that monitors also have a FPS rating. I expect that's why most gaming ones cost an arm and a leg.

Very true, the type of monitor can make huge changes in some systems.

My monitor is not a gaming one and was quite cheap, but a good 29" in size. Refresh rate is not high I expect. But it does not seem to affect what I play on it. Although I don't play anything 'fast' though.
But it's a puzzle that my old i7 PC with a mid-range graphics card does not seem to have any problems running PZ with out messing with the graphics settings. What I wonder is, do people also have a dozen windows open in the background? Power being eaten by something other than PZ? A PC full of spywear and stuff? A billion cookies?
Here's a story. Years ago a friend of mine's business PC ground to a halt. I had a look at it. It seemed his night staff were viewing porn on it and it was loaded with auto-dialling parasites (apparently dialling places in Asia at £2 an hour!!). (In the days of dial-up modems this was.) So it was also costing him a suspicious and puzzling fortune.
Took hours to remove that lot, a few at a time, keep rebooting in Safe Mode.

I think the problem come from the game's optimization. Its suck :/ I can run Insurgency 2, Witcher 3 with a smooth frame rate with high setting. I did search a lot about the game low frame rate situation and many people say that PZ engine is too old and not using all CPU core. I think thats why it have the same FPS no matter setting I set.

Btw I refunded the game, had contacted the devs and customer service web but no response. And the web seems dead too.

Thanks for your advices guys

Why contact them if you refunded the game? Also there is an official game forum.

That post just proves that you have no idea how games and computer performance works... You've been told before, the issue likely is your graphics card, it's not capable of running a game where hundreds/thousands of individuals entities need to be simulated at the same time.

I think you did the correct thing given the game had never performed on your system. I also feel there should be a revision in the minimum specs of the game for the minimum required.

Want to revive the topic. Haven't played the game for years. Just checked one of my very old saves, a larger zoo with around ~5000 guests. Have 50-70 FPS if I pause the game. I don't know if the save is too old to get some FPS more (if that can affect FPS). But I want to create a new zoo anyway.
Any tips to improve FPS? Do performance mods/tweaks already exist?
Since I want to create a bigger zoo again, I could need every boost. Can you show less guests but keep the actual number? I remember that you can limit guests overall, but that doesn't work for me since I want to play Franchise

EDIT: Forgot to mention my system: RTX 3070, i5-10600k, 2x 16GB DDR4 RAM, Windows 11, 1080p

Bud drawing the guests isn't the time consuming part. Its simulating those guests. Showing less isn't going to help your GPU is spending most of its time idling.

All you can do is go through your building and uncheck "climbable". Thats about it. Even that "coveted" DX11 -> DX12 upgrade will net you no more than 2FPS. There isn't much that can be done. This game is very well optimized and when you build a zoo large enough your computer struggles you've just simply exceeded the limits of your hardware. There is a reason games with large worlds and many things have aggressive LODs and culling. But when your game objects act as boundaries and you want to retain the ability to see the whole map, aggressive LODs and culling are problems not solutions. There is a natural push and pull between performance and game functionality/quality. This is the cost of complete control.

The real fix is upgrading that ancient CPU.
