Who's that pokemon/moose sorry couldn't resist the pun

My question with the moose because the game doesn't really say is this moose the north american or Eurasian sub species just helps to figure out who to stick them in with

Well it was in the North America Animals Pack.

It is both. Have a look at the Zoopedia entry for it. They mention the different sub-species but they tag it as both and show it in both areas on the map.

As with many other animals in the game, the animal they give us represents the species, not sub species. Eurasian Elk and North American Moose are the same species.
