If your concern is other players visiting your zoos, they do not actually do that.
Except for Franchise mode this is a single player game. The players that "visit"
your zoos are computer generated based on the other players' avatars. You can
turn this off under Main Screen/Settings/Game. You can also disable your avatar
showing up in other players' zoos if you so wish.
Franchise mode is still single player except for the multi player market for buying and
selling animals with other players. Players still do not communicate, etc. they just put
their animals on the market and buy from others (including Frontier).
If you disable player avatars from visiting your zoo, you will miss out on free 20 cc.
I turn this off because the alerts are a nuisance since I no longer need the cc. The
cc could be helpful for new players.
If the above does not take care of your concern and you still want to play offline, you can do that (excluding Franchise due to the market) but to my knowledge you have to play in Steam Offline mode. Someone else may know of a different way.
That is great to know! I thought, people would really be peeking over my shoulder but now it makes perfect sense that you can set your avatar to not appear anywhere else.
I got suspicious by the alerts, too, and will try to disable that.
Thanks for the help and explanation!
If you play in franchise mode, other player avatars visiting your zoo is an easy 100 cc a day. Nothing to write home about, and pretty much counts as loose change for those of us who have been playing for a while, but if you are a new player the extra cc can be nice.
If you aren't playing franchise mode though, there's no point at all in the player avatar visits other than window dressing. If you have steam friends who play planet zoo, people on your friend list are more likely to visit than 'random' other people....and it's kinda cool seeing folks you know from the steam forums walking around your zoo, imo. @Iloveyourzoos is constantly visiting my zoos.
