Monogamy and polygyny question

I had a gharial habitat with one female, two males and bunch of babies. The female was paired with the worse male (genetically speaking) and I wanted her to breed with the better one. But in the pairing preview it told me it's impossible cause she already has a mate. So I was like okay, no problem, let's send her mate into trade center (that's how I deal with changing alphas in wolf packs).

That didn't work so I decided to sell the male. Now it's been several months (a year even maybe) and she's still blocked from breeding cause she apparently still has a mate, even though he's not in the zoo anymore. Is this permanent or will she eventually choose the only remaining male to be her mate?

Also I found a great snow leopard male in the animal market so I bought him just to find out later that my snow leopard female is also blocked from breeding due to having a mate - her brother. Again, will they stick together permanently even if I sell the male?

How weird... I didnt have this issue with my lions when I found a better male. It took a lil bit but all the females switched over to him. This was before the update though, so I wonder if maybe something got borked?

Try putting the FEMALE into the trade center and back into the enclosure, That should work, at least it does for me :) xx
