If you want to play in someone elses zoo you will need to subscribe to their zoo ( not building ) and load it into your sandbox mode and if allowed to ( limitations can affect your playability ) you can play as if it is your own zoo .. or you can just view it without interacting with anything.
I'm sure if I have got some things wrong someone will pipe up :)
Planet Zoo is a single player game. When you see people visiting your zoo they are not the actual people, it's just using a real players name. Nobody is actually visiting your zoo and no other players can see your zoo. Other players see you visiting their zoos in the same manner even though you are completely unaware of it.
If you would like someone to see your zoo you can upload it the steam workshop where people can subscribe and check out your zoo if they wish but you will still not know or interact with them in any way.
I hope that helps but I feel it might just be even more confusing, Bottom line is (single player game) no interaction with other players in any way. Consider the online market as buying off of E-Bay but without a contact for returns.
You can earn Conservation Credits (CC) if another player's avatar visits your zoo, click on them and say hello. It will give you 20 CC (there is a daily maximum I think of 100 CC) .
You don't need Conservation Credits in Sandbox, you have unlimited :) It's best used for Franchise mode and Challenge mode
Recycling bins do not provide conservation credits, they merely add to your conservation rating of your zoo
