Habitat 1 is named Crocodiles
Habitat 2 is named Peafowl
Now if the workzone has one of them it is called "keep crocodile" if it has two it is called "keep croc pea"
If it is a talk workzone it is "talk croc jan" for the month. Other staff does not have workzones for me. Only keepers and educators.
There might be as many strategies as there are players. Myself, I like to keep it as simple as possible. Most staff will not need workzones but I usually set a few for vendors and keepers. Naming is usually simple like north, south, east and west or sometimes by a named sector. A good zoo that I shared which shows reasonable workzone setup is Isle of Doctor Wylde. That zoo has the naming convention with the region mixed with ordinal compass points.
I may also hire one extra keeper who I call Head Keeper who I don't assign and maybe two vendors who can 'cover' who are also not assigned.
So keeper work zones, for example, all begin with "KEEP-", Caretaker work zones begin with "CT", etc. for example.
All of my work zones are task specific. No work zone has more than one type of employee in it, except for the Security gaurds, which I put in Caretaker work zones. And also I often put 1 caretaker in each vendor work zone. I do this because the optimal coverage area in terms of efficiency is different for every job type, so it doesn't make any sense to me to combine their work zones.
Beyond that, the rest of the name depends on who the work zone is for. For keepers, I put the name of a few of the Habitats, for most of the rest I use the zoo area it covers.
So my keepers that cover 3 habitats centered around a giraffe habitat, for example, would have a work zone named "KEEP-Giraffe", My Caretakers that cover the area closest to the main zoo entrance would have a work zone named "CT-Entrance", etc.
I'm the same as @Grampers62 as well, in terms of being pretty simple beyond that. "North", "South", etc. are pretty standard for the second part of work zone names in most of my zoos.
I'm different from him though in the fact that once my zoo is larger than around 6 habitats ALL of my staff is in work zones, except vets. I never use work zones for Vets, and generally have a maximum of 2 vets even for my largest zoos.
