got past what I was stuck on before and now I am stuck on the lil island zoo. Any tips would be appreciated. Tried starting with a large mixed grassland habitat but went broke.

I started with some tortoises. They're cheap to feed, need little space and live for a long time. Don't add too many animals too quickly, the cost of feeding them gets quite expensive. I think I made a mixed grassland habitat too but only started with one or two species. Research is very important to give your animals enrichment and make them happy. Guests will complain if they have no enrichment. Research also improves education, making guests happy and thus donating more. One way glass is a must. Many animals get stressed so before your zoo gets too big, get that researched.

As with most of the career scenarios, players should refrain from building too quickly. Begin with a couple exhibit buildings that bring guests but cost little to run. As your zoo grows be sure to have plenty of donation bins and atms. Watch the guest happiness and provide for their needs. Avoid the big animals and carnivores till later in the scenario. Note the objectives need not be done in the order given.

Last night had a run where money wasn't really an issue, started with tortoises. But then the big problem is hitting the gold goals with the amount of animals. Not enough room for all those species! if anyone can post their layout/which species are where that would be helpful.

It can be done if one combines species in habitats. Also be aware of how much space each species really needs. I started with a path that did the loop around about 24 meters from each edge placing habitats on the perimeter and then worked inwards.

Here's a link to a map I made of my final zoo's layout (I hope it works properly). I may have made the macaque habitat a bit large. I made this zoo before the zoopedia was updated to calculate required space for animals so you should make yours a lot better than mine :D

I finished this challenge about a week ago and actually found it really enjoyable and easy but I was very strict on habitat sizes and pretty much just had animals in a group of two. I started with aardvarks which are very popular, tortoises and tapirs. Species with habitat spaces of less than 500 are great to start with. Eventually I had hyena, gorillas, chimps, cheetahs, Nile monitor, crocs, manrills etc. I only a few multi species habitat - lemurs, nyala and bongo, and aardvark and sable antelope and I was taking in loads of money. Get multiple vets and mechanics doing research to get the one way barrier and make the habitats just big enough for the minium species numbers and a few babies and keep on top of selling off the young.
