"Base Trim" for walls snaps to the middle of the wall instead of the bottom (Contruction mode)
I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong or if we have wildly different definitions of base trims.

This is simply a limitation of snap points built into the 3d models. Using snap then pressing x will get it so that you can get those in the correct position.

I have alot of issues with contstrucion too, I must say the whole construcion thing is a bit of a mess and it could be fixed with tooltips popingup whenever you do something :dazed_yeti:

I think someone said there is a tutorial for it in one of campaign missions, any1 maybe finished them and knows which one is it ?

Don't recall actual building tutorials but a few do require one to add things to certain buildings and place blueprints. A quick search on youtube and the like you might find something that helps you.

Yeah I tried the first one and it explained some stuff about habitat barriers I havent figured out on my own before ;p But man it was a long and boring scenario ;p

Yeah ill look it up on youtube thing is I dont know what am I exactly looking for, I really hoped there is a good building mission out there that would explain it all about grids and blueprints and some other random stuff;p I can't even find the menu where grids and bluerpints are listed ;p

Do you mean the one in Maple Leaf Zoo in north america ? Its just build a us a zoo scenario, it doesnt have any guides with it ?;p

I meant play through all the scenarios up to level four. Sorry for the confusion there.

Oh ok ill finish them thanks ;p btw in the meantime I made a mess of that scenario 4 xDD Turns out if you place the first enclosure too far from exit, them bastards wont ever care to walk to see the animal lol XD

Every career scenario has new game concepts they expect you to learn when you play them, they just stop offering you guided hand-holding after the first few, but each one's challenges adds to the layer of game knowledge you need to develop in order to complete them successfully.
My personal recommendation is to do them all...sure, the latter ones don't hand-hold, but if you complete them all to gold you'll know what you are doing when it comes to all of the game mechanics once you start doing your own zoos in Franchise or Challenge modes.

Besides, there are decorative statues unlocked by each scenario. If you do not do them, you can't use those statues in any game mode.

I get what you mean, but its alot of hassle getting through them all, and I just want to build my own zoo :P

I was just hoping the construction stuff is explained somewhere, since its a bit confusing for a new player ;p

Your right tho I did learn in that scenario that the guest mentality boils down to not minding to go half way up the mountain to visit mcDonalds but never mind the bears if they are on the top xDDD And you would think they came to the zoo xD

That's actually the thing with the game that bothers me the most...the fact that food & drink shops have a much more significant impact on drawing visitors than high appeal animals.

That said, you can direct visitors to habitats that are more removed from the "beaten path" by placing billboards which advertise those habitats. Just something to keep in mind the next time your bears are lonely.

So there isn't a way to snap base trims to the base of a wall, I guess.

This building UI and functionality is like a bad joke.

I'm not gonna manually drag 144 base trims to the correct position, making sure they match the existing ones by the millimeter. Instead I'm just gonna - not build stuff.

I think if you drag one of them to a position you want if you prest crtl + X it should duplicate in the same spot so all you would have to do then is just move it to the right. Like what he epxlaines here:
https://youtu.be/TUp-fi5TF20?t=352

I am not sure if that helps you ;p

But yeah I feel you;p I also think the controls and how they are explained could have been done better, for a 70 quid 2019 game ;p

Or simply build one wall section with the base in place, select them and copy to create a wall with the trim already in place.
This requires a little fore thought and planning but copying groups is the easiest way to line up decorated walls.
