DLC bundle price

I own the game and a couple DLCs so I can't get the bundle discount? It adds what I already have to the bundle price. Doesn't seem right. thx

I think the last time I bought a bundle with things I already owned in it, they added the prices, took the discount off, then subtracted that cost of the already owned item.

Usually what I do is wait until the majority content is released then buy a bundle that way I get the base game and other content in one bundle. Since I purchased the premium bundle in November, I had to purchased the Europe Pack separate.

I've been a Steam user since Steam existed, and for the life of my I still have no idea why some games have bundles where they automatically just take out the price off things you already own and let you buy the bundle , other games won't let you buy it all except as a "gift"...and still other games will let you buy it, but then you have "extra" of whichever you already own which you can then gift to someone else.

I'm guessing it's just dealer's draw of what the game developers want to do or something.

I'm glad I spotted this post before buying as I'd assumed that the bundle would work like most other games and just knock off the items already owned regardless of cost. I bought the recently released ONI DLC for a better price on their bundle deal having had the original at full cost since EA.

So this is a little disappointing and has made me pause on whether to buy. I've been craving for this game for a while but have only just got a PC that can run it so this Xmas I was going to buy the base game and play for a little while to see if I like it and the issues some report (like path finding) aren't too game breaking for me. I like tycoon games but this looks like it needs a lot more creativity which isn't one of the things i'm good at. If I did like it I was then going to upgrade using the bundle to get all of the DLC as there are animals in there that I would really want.

The current £9 price is cheap enough for me to not refund if I don't like it but nearly £50 is a lot to spend to find out if the game is for me. But then if I really do like it - it will cost me even more to buy the DLC due to this bundle approach so now I'm debating even to buy it.

For those that have the DLC, would you recommend just the base game or do the DLC really make the game.

The reason you can't buy the bundle cheap is because steam has 2 types of bundles: collections and bundles
collections don't take into account games you already own and can only be bought in full.
bundles take into account what you already own and subtract it from the bundle.
unfortunately the collections in the store for planet zoo are the wrong type.

Unfortunate for Frontier Developments as I bought something else instead. I'm fine with it. People that are already customers shouldn't have to pay a higher price. Cable companies do this too and they can all bite me. Thanks

Frontier is pretty terrible at providing adequate discounts to those who supported games from the beginning. Jurassic World Evolution was the same way. No DLC discounts, yet someone buying the game + DLC a year after release could get it all at the original game's price. Personally think a dev would want to show appreciation for those who supported them from the beginning.

Yeah when I looked at the bundle it was way cheaper for me to just buy the DLC I was missing separately. It's too bad really...
