What you have wrote is essencial.
But from what I've observed from having 8-10 bear habitats (in every all bears had 100% welfare) is that stars come quicker, the more quests are there, observing animals and having good time.

So all my bears had all theirs needs met, yet it took ages for them to get 1 star, then next. Because habitats were in most distant part of ZOO. 7-9 years took to get 1 star. It was dramatic. ;)

And after I've put ZOO entrances near these habitats and more guests started observing bears, getting educated, etc., it occured that even baby bear got 1 star. And I was sure that only adult animals can get stars.

So education level is also important, guests happiness (including surroundings rating, etc.)., number of guests, their education level and so on.

Think of it that animal star rating is rather what guests experienced about this animal.

Also - one thing that we cannot skip - time. Even if everything is perfect, 1 star takes about 4 years to get.

So remember that you can make time to pass few times faster. 3 times? So if you prepare everything, just press the arrow in bottom-right 2 times to make time fly faster. Pause if anything needs attention, resolve it and unpause and make sure that game is set to fast.

Have wonderful Christmas! <3

Happy coincidence for me, my current in-progress zoo has both elephant types in it....I think it's the first zoo I've made in ages that has any elephants at all.

With how long it takes elephants to mature to adults....that's going to be the biggest hurdle for this challenge imo. They breed SO SLOW.

Does anyone know if the challenge will accept both Indian and African elephants?

Be warned...
Elephants are slow breeders. The time between births can be agonizing. As well as the time to mature being forever long. They also require a lot of cash to feed them so do this challenge in a already profitable zoo. And be prepared to have several breeding groups. (as many as six to begin with)
All that being said, this is not an unbeatable challenge.
One Key is to start with above average appeal rating ( above 6500 for a 13 year old)

Note that the last elephant challenge was completed but if memory serves it was a gold ribbon/medal release challenge.

Just checked... I've still got four habitats with elephants in them from that challenge!:steamhappy:

Elephants are way easier to breed than bears, as you can keep them in large groups. Especially the Indian Elephant. So get a good male, get 15 good females and you have 300 released in no time! :D (Well in some time... have to wait for the stars to come)

You have to wait for the challenge to start, anyway, mzda-grl! ;)

Why didn't it tell me yesterday?!? Or did I quit too soon? I got mad while trying to make an existing habitat big enough to share with the elephants, but those lousy, inbreeding warthogs kept getting in the way!

Does anyone know if Elephants can be 3 stars+ for this challenge or do they have to be exactly 3 stars for it to count?

Wow them elephants cured my zoo, I thought ill never figure out how to make it up to the spoiled brats entering my fabulous domain complaining that... wait for it... they have to walk to see the animals who would have thought their royal feet would be put to use :crying_yeti: They probably expected a next gen monorail would come pick them up like in jurasic world movie, well guess what NOT IN MY ZOO :lunar2019madpig:

But since I added the elephants to my furthermost paddock, they are happy again, I am back to four starts xD So I am gonna go on and help you with your challange xD What do we get if we suceed and where to check the status ? I only have to release 5 right ? and my job is done ?
