Anyone knows what's in the corner of the restaurant? Looks like a spawn place, but I don't know.

I'm building a restaurant and the structure doesn't go over there - or doesn't use that corner.
So if you know, please let me know. Thanks

Also, the path connects on the other side, so I wonder.

Have you actually been able to link tables to your restaurant? I can't seem to get mine to do it no matter how close they are, whether they are inside or out. I read the tutorial over and over but can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. The game seems to treat the tables as scenery and I only get an edit/move panel on them and when I try to do it through the restaurant counter I get the tabs but they don't respond. Does it need to be connected to the path first I wonder?

Yes, linking tables works fine for me. They don't have to be on a path at all, just close enough to the restaurant. Then you go into the "Tables" tab of the Restaurant when it is selected and link them.

The restaurant itself does need to be linked to a path though, so if that's what you are asking...yes, link the restaurant to a path first. The tables themselves do not need paths.

Also, make sure you are using the right tables/booths. There is only one table and one booth for restaurants. You cannot use the various picnic tables that we have always had for them.

Yes I followed the instructions to the letter and I am on the correct table page in the facilities menu, the problem is that when I click on the restaurant the only thing that appears is the available tabs but clicking on them produces no action. No 'Link To' option or any other option for that matter. Just the tabs, When I try to do it in reverse, from the tables, it just shows the menu for editing, moving or duplicating. I tried placing a generator near it since they need electricity but that didn't work either nor did connecting the restaurant to the path.

If you select the "Tables" tab on the restaurant there should be a "Link Tables" and "Place Tables" button available.

Edit to add: Make sure the Restaurant is powered...maybe that's your problem?

***EDIT*** Restarted the game and for whatever reason it works now.. for anyone having issues going forward. Thanks for your help though friends!

Yes, it seems something wasn't communicating within the game. I tried all of that but couldn't get it to work. It worked fine after restarting the game...

I'm so sorry Delta_BOSS! I seem to have hijacked your thread. I believe that corner is where the guests walk through into the restaurant once they clear the corner, though I am not certain of it. Please forgive me for not saying this sooner!

Next time I'm in my sandbox, I'll make a nice restaurant and stare into the corner to see what happens.

Oh hooray, that's great! I was trying to figure out how the heck the templates work when they are 2 storeys. 🤣

With that in mind to the OP - it must be for the guests to enter in and appear at the tables I'd wager.

Hmmm, I'll post my new Restaurant building to the workshop. I don't know If I built it correctly: I followed from where the path connects...

I thought they'd include waiters with this new game update... I had in mind that kitchen should be in the back and that guests enter from the opposite side, at the front...

Please let me know if this works... (Table aren't connected yet - used Restaurant tables).
My issue is: I made an entrance, but I don't know if guests will go in that way... I really used simple logic to create this without much observing any tutorial...

Thanks for making this, yes it works.
I just connected a path to the vendor entrance and my main path. The guests enter and are teleported to the seating and back to the the "black hole" after they have eaten, no paths needed to the seating. Just need to click the restaurant and link the seating.
It does look a little strange when they just appear out of nowhere

Hmmm, yeah I figured there was something odd with that black corner since there is no path connection from that spot.
