I would prefer that the guests walk to a table and have a waiter bring their food. I know it allows table placement on terrain, etc. and less code work but it seems weird. Also, given the mechanics, the toilets have to go outside the restaurant but they could still be in the same building- no different from food courts. Still, it is better than just a pure rabbit hole and I am glad they added a restaurant. Since I like to do my own building, I do not mind changing the way the inside looks to fit a theme and then just blueprint everything.
I've been wondering if the guests even 'know' where they are. Like, if you put the tables on the roof with a cooler set at freezing... do the guests come out of the warp blue and complaining? If you set up the most complex, gorgeous place ever conceived, do they 'know' that and come out of the warpaurant all happy?
I like that you don't have to have a path to the tables (allows you to put them on a top floor of a building without screwing around with the janky path system, but at the same time, the 'poof' to and from the tables... meh.
I guess I'm also undecided. There are good parts to this set-up and bad.. but personally I think I'd rather mess with flooring than to have them spawn/despawn/spawn again.
I've not tested the temperature thing though... lol
Or the whole blob glitch stay permanent!
Scuba gear makes it really hard to chew, so I'd go with serving stuff like ice cream and pudding.
Dinner with badgers anyone?
Where the hell is my fish, Frontier?!
Wouldn’t it be nice to order lobster from the aquarium, lol. We need a seafood restaurant.
Anyone remember that movie?
I don't care much for the wall and roof in front of the serving hatch, would be good if the whole thing was editable, the guy chopping carrots is not great would prefer something more animated, such as cooking in a pan.
Go into the blueprints menu and type "restaurant" in the search box. There are actually 2 blueprints for them which came with the DLC, not just the void hole, you just have to research the theme from the DLC with a mechanic first to unlock them.
Of course, if you didn't buy the DLC...you don't have them. But at that point you are complaining about not getting something which was a free update, so it would be a little silly.
There are also around a dozen that people have uploaded to the workshop already.
I agree though that it would have been nice if they had included a few more blueprints for the various base game themes too (New World, Classic, etc).
They are not that bad for a start and later on who knows they might update it.
I added 3 tables more to each restaurant and have 8500 guests.

I'd imagine that there was a reason or two behind the implementation of the teleporter.
