I tried placing a food court near the station to encourage at least some to get off more often but it didn't help too much...
Needless to say they all got upset and eventually left the zoo requesting a refund.
I have thus come to the conclusion that it is best to only place a station where there is something they want to get off for. So start off with maybe one or two stations in either a continuous circuit if a large track system or in a shunt two station short ride to get from A to B. And then adjust as needed or able at a later date.
So I don't think the transport system is broken but more the case that we haven't identified when a food court is enough to get off of a vehicle or when a habitat or exhibit or souvenir shop.
My ride does make money but the get off/on nearer the entrance and get off/on at the very back. I don't try to pull them in with shops. I find, unless you've island cut off all guests from drinks/food, except for the ride, shops don't work. High desire animals at the very back does. So timber wolves, flamingos and the like when they walk in. Drink and toilet near by, ride. Lots of graduation animals in between with hats, balloons etc. in between. Eles and tigers at back with Exhibits and food/drink.
They get on alright constantly. And my Gondola runs over their heads on the 10 size path at the edge, not really in habitats. On the ground and the ride everyone is happy.
Note on island cut off method. You can and will get stuck guests unless you zero out the cost of the ride back so they can leave. Some will *not* spend money or pull out more money to get home. They'll just jump up and down.
Edit: lil typos
Generally I have to remove and replace a piece of track in order to make it work properly again. Switching on and off is not enough.
I know that some players have a problem of no visitors using their ride, but I do not have this problem.
I have found (problems) at middle of the station or farther back that it is the cause. But the nearest point where the ride leaves the station. If exit is right there, there isn't any problem. Do you happen to have a screen shot?
Regarding the exit point, I have never paid too much attention to it. I'll have to play again to double check it, but indeed I generally put it at the back of the station, I think. I'll try to modify it and we'll see.
I Noticed the ques were getting long and started tracking the guests. Saw some guest in the same vehicle getting out at the station, while the other half stayed in the vehicle. I followed them through the zoo. They completed a loop through all 3 stations without getting off. I then clicked on some other guests. Their stats were all red except for tiredness, so they must have been stuck on the ride for a while.
I also closed the stations and went into edit track to reset the ride. Things went back to normal for a while and then some guests started not getting out again. I also have a suspended gondola in the same zoo, but so for it's not affected.
I figured I best just delete it because, people stuck on the boat were unhappy, the people waiting to get on were unhappy and guests that kept saying the que to get on was full, lose lose situation.. eek, will try to rebuild it again sometime in the next few days to see if my game is still being a buggy jerk with it. lol
