Let's see...3 habitats. There's a big mountain area with a grizzly bear. Then there's the downtown "shopping area" that's part of the wolf exhibit (in the movie it's dogs but we'll exchange wolves). I don't think any of the other animals from the movie are in the film, so we'll get with angry hippos just because angry hippos. if we had cougars that would be a suitable choice for a third habitat, though I guess you could substitute lions for that.
Shopping area would be a small town feel, American Northwest, full of mountain and forest scenery. Definitely not southwest and deserts.
Yeah, I have weird taste in movies, and this going to going to go to sandbox.
I'm going for The Grey and Happy Feet lol.
I like Planet Coaster as well and considering the games are so similar in style a really great job has been done of making them completely different. It definitely would be nice to have a couple of cross-overs though for sure.
The other Idea I've had, would be a Enclosure that is inspired by the Movie I am Legend (remembered the Scene where the Main Character is hunting Deer in the City and then his Kill get's stolen by Lions that most likely escaped from a Zoo)
Will you post Pictures of the finished Enclosures somewhere?
Seriously though, I'd go with the plaza in front of the court house (city hall?) from Back to the Future in the 1950s or 80s.
The Lion King has already been done in the workshop and I don't know how well your warthog would fare in the same enclosure (RIP PUMBA).
King Kong Island or a city with gorillas is another idea, but it's pretty close to the planet of the apes, which has already been mentioned and fits the normal sized apes/monkeys much better.
Life of Pi would be pretty cruel to just keep a tiger on a boat with a single guest.
You could build a colosseum and let animals fight, as depicted in many movies ofc.
The mines of Moria from the LOTR New Line Cinema Pictures version, with lemurs or monkeys instead of goblins could work. So could Hobbiton with Bonobos. Bonobo Baggins!
You could also go down a VERY DARK path with Schindler's List or Django Unchained, to name the movies and not the actual historical crimes behind them.
Speaking of darkness, have you ever seen "The Ghost and the Darkness" ? Built a train track through a lion habitat and see what happens. They even use a Mandrill to lure one of them in the movie and they are in the game, also.
You could build a circus tent, like in Dumbo.
You could build a large Airplane and put snake exhibits inside.
The Jungle book would also be interesting in terms of co-habitation.
And of course Honey, we bought a zoo.
Strange isn't it. Some are really obvious but then the mind plays tricks and all the obscure variances come out :)
At this point I will add a Starship Troopers Underground Cave exhibits.
... but you could try making a Predator themed jungle zoo in South America.
Or perhaps you could try recreating the alien jungles of Avatar (as well as the military base).
Honestly, if I was going to bother with aesthetics, I'd probably try to recreate the floating crystal islands of Cephiro from Magic Knight Rayearth. It has nothing to do with zoos, but I can totally make floating islands, so it'd be worth a try maybe.
