I do 100% agree with the Bird Pack, I've been also wanting this for a long time as well and some birds capable of flying and such. Add a show area for any animal, just like having the educator, but surrounded by a show area where shows can be performed for the public. Also, maybe a second Aquatic pack with dolphins, belugas, etc like in some zoos have AND for the packs to be more than 8 animals, I'm yes and no at the same time because it's a small pack with 8 animals, exhibition ones included + all the scenery and flora. About the carnivoures, maybe if they could attack other animals and eat them, that would be cool- like they do in the wild and such. Talking about the quality of the guests when they visit the zoo, it does lag the game a lot when it's too many of them which means I have to also keep the zoo closed if I want to play.
For the Farm pack, perhaps some animals will do but I don't it would be a good addition to the game, unless they interact with the animals or if you get mods or something--
- boredom behaviors
- individual personality types (since zoos do have to deal with animals just not getting along)
- Exhibit rodents. I could see a neat bat exhibit or a kangaroo mouse exhibit.
- Birds. Any irl zoo I've been to has had owls, eagles, even some ravens.
Some things I'd rather see added:
- Easier ways to track family trees or mated pairs at a glance. Keeping track of these things gets tedious especially with large herd animals. I've got a tagging system in place where I add a symbol to the mother and father, and then any offspring get both of those tags. Also helps when trading so (hopefully) someone doesn't get siblings and potential interbreeding issues.
- Actual herding behaviors. In animals like the gazelles or zebras, they need large groups but then they all disperse into different parts of the exhibit. It gets especially chaotic when you've got a mixed species enclosure and none of the "herd animals" are herding together. Something similar to the pack system could work where they form a proper herd and then move together.
- New enrichment items for individual animals where watching the animals interact offers guest boons. Something like a lure/chasing toy for cheetahs that get guests super excited to see the cheetahs run.
- More North American animals. Maybe in a DLC pack or something that includes animals like lynx, cougars/florida panthers, wolverines, etc.
- Rather than a farm mode (which feels too different from zoo animals with the whole produce harvesting thing) I'd rather see a "National Park/Reserve" mode where you don't have fences. You still monitor the animals, but the different species interact more and you also have to worry about other environmental factors.
Some of you're ideas are awesome, would you mind if I add them to my list? (I will create you, of course)
Now, about my ideas about the extra diseases and starvation, I just think they would put some realism into the game since all RL zoos cope with them whenever they're stressful or not.
