Not many animals showing in trading?

Whenever I play challenge mode, I can't even find my favorite animals in the animal trading. I have to wait several months & refresh until I finally find a red panda or something. Is there a way to disable this? Like have it the old style way where I could just get any animal I want? I understand if this is in franchise mode but the way it's forced in the challenge mode is stupid. And when I complain, people say "just play sandbox".

I still want to manage money, guests, staff & animal happiness but I just personally want a little more freedom with selecting which animals I want in my zoo. Just a little inconvenient for me to have to fast forward the game 12 months to find a singular animal, or even if I find two they're like both male/female & can't reproduce. It's extremely frustrating.

It does sound as if you would be happier in the sandbox where you get everything without the patience required to wait. I have never played franchise mode, but I have played a few of the Career and Challenge modes, but I don't recall animal limitations apart, perhaps, due to where in the world the zoo is.

nah theres limitations in every zoo biome. Plus I already explained that I want to manage money & guests, etc so sandbox wouldn't be for me. The only thing I personally want is a wide selection of animals that I don't have to wait forever for.

You still manage money and guests in Sandbox. You can use Settings to set it how you want. No unlimited money for example. I play with unlimited money, etc., but I still like to try to make a profit. The criteria still exists in the profit/loss section.

I actually wasn't aware of this, I was just assuming sandbox was infinite everything like most tycoon games with sandbox. Thank you sm for the information!

I'm confused as to why you don't try franchise mode. Because of the players adding to the pool of animals on the market, you can often get a bigger selection to choose from (even though the online market is extremely laggy and you have to deal with clicking buttons several times in order to make a transaction happen - that part is lame). But, you can even make it sort of your own breeding challenge to open a franchise, start with whatever slim number of favorite animals you're trying to "save from extinction" - red panda for example. Then, as you put the effort into breeding better and better quality red pandas and put them on the market, other players get a chance to grab some and grow their populations and further increase the availability on the market. In theory anyway.

I know that I personally stopped playing franchise because of the lag between purchasing/transferring animals. And yeah, sandbox is boring.

The availability in challenge mode can be frustrating, but it makes sense to me. I assume the market is limited to simulate how hard it can be to find the right animals IRL. I spend my downtime decorating in between habitats, checking welfare, and researching.

If you want to make a suggestion for an unlimited market, you'll have to go to the developer's website. They don't take suggestions from the Steam forums.

Surely you still only get the animals that are in the game playing in any mode?
