Teachers at the zoo.
I do not understand it at all. Placed microphones in different places, two months to rest in the meantime (...) Then an alarm goes off that feeding from that point is not possible because there is water nearby. So shift with those things ...
Then wait again in the hope that it will work out this time. Not so!
Despite the fact that I was so happy with this new addition, I am now completely done with it.
In the zoos that I know, the employee stands among the animals to have the chat.
It would be a shame if my ignorance leads to a goodbye to this game.
Do you have an idea what to do or should I just wait for the developers to come up with a better plan?

You can actually place the talking point inside the habitat if it is the kind of animal that can have guests walking through, and you have guest gates on the habitat, too. Then guests can feed the animals for sure. The talking points still are active on other habitats, even with the warning that guests cannot feed the animals. Sometimes my walls are really high for dangerous predators that I don't want escaping into the crowd, and I just ignore the feeding warning and give talks there, anyway. I usually put at least three months in between talks, if it is the same educator giving the talk, to give the educator enough time to go to a staff facility building and rest in between, and then walk back. Also, be sure the talking point is in a work zone with an educator assigned to that same work zone.

Yes, the education point will still work even if it says they can't throw food. Also, you'll sometimes get a "talk inaccessible" message which seems to be a bug, they do still give the talks regardless. Getting it placed just right to get the food throw is tricky and not really the biggest draw, guest come to the talk anyway.

If you place the educator’s stand in the middle of the path, you wouldn’t get the “inaccessible” message... but you would get the “unable to throw food” one.
If you place the stand next to the barrier, you would get the “inaccessible” but not “unable to throw food”... unless you have water on the other side of the barrier — in that case you would get both messages. Talks will still take place.
Also, it is unclear what effect the scenery rating has on these talks.

I love this new feature but it needs some adjustment, that’s for sure. There is simply no “ideal spot” for the educator. And very often the animals just ignore the thrown food anyway.

Another issue is the crowds gathered for the talk can cause stress. In my last zoo I had pronghorn antelopes “stressed” every time the animal talk happened (behind one-way glass). I placed a “don’t disturb animals” sign and the problem was solved. No more stress, ever.
In other habitat (the same zoo) with Buffalo and Zebra, the talking was done on a raised platform. Buffalo (the females and calves but not the male) were getting stressed each time the crowds started assembling, which kept attracting annoying protesters. Placing a “don’t disturb” sign and adjusting the position of some trees to partially screen the roaming animals (it was a large habitat, with a lake and plenty of space) somewhat alleviated the problem but a Buffalo calf would still get stressed sometimes during the talk and the protesters would immediately show up.

Thank you very much for your tips. The animal talk is not quite functioning properly yet, but I can live with it.:steamhappy:
