WTF happened to the binturong?
Please note that this is about the first image we saw of the binturong! ^_^

I don't care what people say, it is way to short, fluffy/fat and the ears? What happened?! It looks like to separate ears! It's like the wolf ears on top of a bears and it is so ugly. It's a huge disappointment to me that they failed so much. I used to have these guys in my zoo all the time on Zoo Tycoon.

This is a binturong:

Not the mess that's coming into this game. It's like they slapped the poor animal over the Red Panda's body, made the tail longer added wolf ears on top of the panda's ear and called it a day. It is clear that the binturong was last to be made and they rushed it.

This is seriously a travesty and something that's making me want to skip this DLC which is crazy because I want to support the 8 animal thing. Even if it is just a bunch of reskinned animals because I've always wanted those animals in my zoo's.

Be wary of claiming they appear to be... dare I say it? Reskins.

Read my odd thread, "South East Asia. Something new?"

I barely hint that they look like the "R" word and the faithful fanboys put me in my place. My actual point was, we have enough cats, bears etc in the game, we need to spice it up. It's like, for me, every new pack is more or less the same. Or, at least they feel the same.

Anyway, you're spot on. The new ones appear to be an interpretation of a binturong, over an actual likeness.

I should clarify. Apparently, no animal in the game is a reskin. Or, at least that's what some believe.

My line is, they may not be reskins, but they sure look like they are.

I tried not to mention the R word either that's why it is not in my post. I seriously don't mind the animals we will get in this new pack because I had hope the Binturong would be something special but it is the opposite it is a pure mess.

But yeah, you're right, these does look like reskins, more so if you take a look at the mods on Nexus.
It is sad though like you said that all the DLC we have gotten so far hasn't really changed the game that much. Maybe the aquatic pack did a little but people were making underwater viewing anyways before it came out

Truly, they messed up on the Bintuwrong.

Indeed, I never have thought I'd seen a ugly animal in this game but sadly this has proven me wrong. I do hope they fix it but I have serious doubts that they will and we have to rely on someone on Nexus to fix it

It's really odd too because the aquatic pack and the australia pack were filled with unique animals. Its like they ran our of steam with this pack.

Definitely with the Binturong

+1. The majority of animals we have gotten through paid DLC's have been absolute re-skins of the base animals that launched with the game. On occasions there have been new animals with new mechanics, but since it's all through paid DLC, they should all be new animals with new mechanics.

Frontier are known for their DLC methods at this point. DLC is fine as long as it's introducing new elements and stuff to toy around with, which most of these DLC's, unlike Planet Coasters, do not.

I want to let everyone here know that it was confirmed today that the Developers will try to fix it:steamthumbsup:
I wouldn't get too mad if it still looks like this when the DLC is released because in my Opinion it's better if they use as much Time as they need instead of trying to fix it in a specific Time Frame

I feel like you are forgetting to mention that they add the new gameplay mechanics in free (!) updates. The DLCs add more animals and scenery pieces for the people that want them. I'd rather have it that way than the other way around where you have to pay if you want additional gameplay mechanics.

Are you able to give us the link to this post? Because if they are generally going to fix it then that's great. And like you said, this model will do until they make it better in like a free update

Planet games come incomplete, I don't think Frontier should be given a pat on the back for including free updates. They have to continue to develop the game further because their launches are bare minimum, content wise. If they did not, they would have no fan base.

Regardless, that doesn't detract from the fact that out of the DLC's they have released so far, they have been unremarkable and mostly just re skins of base game animals. Their DLC model for Planet Coaster was more fair than what they've been doing with Planet Zoo.

This is a link to where the developers say they will lookover/hopefully fix the binturong. We'll probably see these changes in a free update if it isn't ready for launch

I hear you. IMO, it's not unreasonable to expect something new and unexpected in a new pack. It's like TS4. The game literally went backwards. Things like the bars all look more or less the same. Or, they'll introduce a "new" plant, which is merely a recolour of something they already did. And then they charge you a small fortune, for pixels.

How hard can it be to create new items for a game? After all, countless fans create CC, usually for free. So, it can't cost a fortune to make. However, it's time that's being neglected since so many game devs do this.

Don't get me wrong, Frontier are a cut above EA. So, they don't have to aim high. lol

Guess I'm sick of getting games that are wrapped in bright colours and look all pretty, but are hollow inside.
