Can't repair broken down railway

I just spent 1/2 hour real time trying to fix a broken down station in the game and it can't be fixed - the mechanic comes out & does his thing but the station remains broken. Has anyone got any ideas on how to repair (the game possibly) because if I delete that glitched station I lose all the other stations and tracks!

In what way is it broken? What happens? But you can delete individual stations using Track Edit, or add them, or increase track length and wotnot. (Close the track first)

Are you sure the station is added to a work zone? I notice when generators break down, even if I send a mechanic to fix them, they don't seem to get repaired unless they are assigned to a work zone.

I cleared the steam downloads cache and it's all ok again! The station was in a work zone with a mechanic due to service every 12 months - I changed that to 3 months and he fixed the fault. Previously he had been doing the repair animation but the station was still flagged as broken - Whatever, it works again :)

Hrmm, I keep saying that the more stuff that's downloaded to the game, and the more DLCs added, problems can happen, due to extra strain put on a PC.
