Gender Ratio and Parents fighting

With the African Buffalo challenge I am seeing a huge lop sided variance in gender ratio on the births. 48 calves so far and 36 are male. Bad RNG or is it on purpose? I can't be the only one with the problem as the market is FLOODED with bulls and 3-4 Frontier Zoo awful DNA heifers which are easy enough to improve, but again the calves are almost all male....

Second question involves the fighting of parents AFTER Maturation of child (Aardvarks). I hover over the little critter and box them up the very second they mature and the parents bicker anyway? At least the African Buffalo Daddies don't care as long as you are prompt with the removal of a future rival.

I'm still VERY new to the game. I started with Peafowl as they were the cheapest animal to be had and spent a week with just those as I improved my DNA stock. Added in Aardvarks next which will be slower to improve due to group size and single births. I had just started on African Buffalo and African Elephants last week so I had a bit of a head start on the challenge. I am very very patient.
