Franchise mode curiosity
What's the appeal of the franchise mode to you?

I've always played sandbox because when I started franchise over a year ago I couldn't make a great entrance with the few bucks that I had, it sort of killed my creativity, but now I'd like to try out franchise as sandbox is just too easy to manipulate the difficulty whenever you want (which means less risks and challenges)

Also, what happens to the trading centre if fewer players are online?
Does Frontier has a solution to that? Do they fill it up with random animals like sandbox?

Hi, first, sorry for my bad english, i´m german ;)
in franchise u need to start slow and expand low to make sure you don´t go bankrupt. If u have some animals, you can expand and let your creativity run free ;-) Leave some space to upgrade your first habitats and your entrance and all will be fine :)

In the market are always some frontier-animals and they fill it up if there are no offers from other players. The bad thing is, when there are some offers with high prices from other players, you need to wait until time´s running out, because Frontier only puts animals in the market when there are not enough.

For me Franchise is most fun, cause of the difficulty at start and i love the trading with other players. Give it a new try ;-) and have fun!

Its a mixture.
There is creative freedom, but it is limited to how you handle your zoo and you have the markets etc with animals and other players. You can´t just overdo it right away (like in sandbox mode)

Both are great options, I just like the little gameplay tweak FM offers.

The bottom line is one has different game types allowing each player to find something they can like.

This is why I love Franchise Mode:
1. Once research (both mechanic and Vets) is completed, it remains completed in any new zoo you open. This makes it similar to sandbox as you can build whatever you want in your new zoo.
2. The online trading gives incentive to try to breed animals with good stats. No other mode gives me that incentive. Frontier does seed the market with low stat animals usually. Lately though I am having a hard time getting a male Black Wildebeest.
3. There are community challenges presented in Franchise mode only.
4. Habitat animals can be moved from on zoo to another. You place them in storage in one zoo and take them out of storage in another.

Thanks these are very good points.
Research is a good challenge and progress we don't have in sandbox.

Yes I will definitely give it a try, it sounds much better than I thought, thanks for your input!

my reasons:

-i like the challenge of starting with barely anything and trying to work my way up. In sandbox i make a big zoo and then get bored and stop playing, i personally need that challenge of staying profitable

- the market always has more animal options, and colors, since other players breed them

- i like being able have multiple zoos and share animals between them

basically, i get bored if i'm in sandbox because i need that challenge of having money. I like the more animal options. Sandbox i use to make fancy habitats for animals, which i then put into my franchise zoos

I don't like starting out slow and having no money to build with. But, I do enjoy breeding and trading animals with other players. The solution for someone like me, is to have multiple franchise zoos: As mentioned before, get research done in one zoo (at least all the building stuff and basic diseases), and you have access to all that building in other zoos. Send animals into storage from one zoo, and sell them for cash at another zoo to give yourself more to work with when building. Or, you can just ignore your budgeting problems entirely. Most of my franchise zoos end up losing money eventually, but I have over 300,000 conservation credits by now through trading on the market and releasing animals to the wild, so I have plenty to work with when it comes high quality animals on the market. Availability on the market does seem to fluctuate according to peak usage times. Weekends tend to be busiest.

I rather have the opposite issue. It's extremely easy to make my franchise profitable and feels like there's not enough challenge in the matter. All it takes is a few exhibits and some vendors and you're nearly infinitely profitable.
