That being said, try clicking on a guest in line and see their thoughts. they can tell you a lot about the ride. It sounds like it is quite popular though. Also check the load rules at each station. If that station is busy set it to full load only.
For the speed and number of cars. the more cars the more the operating cost. So don't go crazy there. Set the speed so that a car is never not at a station. That means two to three cars for each station in the monorail.
And the most important thing is to not stress over it. It's just a game. And the rides are like a mini game inside the main game.
Hope that helps, but know that each build is different and my suggestions are just a starting point to fine tune your own setup.
I have 3 cars per station but only one is always full while people waited to get in. I always try to adjust the waiting time and the amount of people who can join. Meanwhile, the monorail costs money instead of bringing me anything.
Are all of the stations actually open?
And finally there is a bug that carried over from planet coaster where all seats are assigned to all cars when car one reaches station one. In this bug what happens is all seats get assigned to the guests waiting at station one first and then station two and so on. The result is that station two and up never get seats assigned to the guests waiting there till station one has fewer guests than available seats. The work around is to have very short Que paths at each station and set the load rules to half load.
The setting is a continuous loop, three cars per station, full occupancy (although sometimes only two or three people get on) and a 6 second interval.
Then of course there is also the mechanic who inspects everything every 6 months and at that time no traffic is possible....
By the way. Station number, 1st, 2nd and so on is not always the order in which you placed them.
I followed your recommendations and one less car in the monorail circuit. Everything runs smoother now, but nevertheless I'm still losing well over $1000 a year. Not much you will say, but it is still a shame that PZ neglects this beautiful option.
Due to obstructions at safari I thought I would do well here. Unfortunately no recommendation to install tours in my zoo.
