HELP HELP HELP

Recently purchased planet zoo after being a big fan of planet zoo on my old steam account, so long story short i was with out a pc a for a while, not long invested in a new rig and last week baught planet zoo deluxe with aquatic pack, through {LINK REMOVED}g2a.com for steam, downloaded installed no problem's, start the game all load in fine well everything to be fair is fine appart from one fair major detail, for some reason when building paths i can not for the life of me get a path to lower or raise i know you are meant to hold the left mouse key and move either up or down and the path will follow your input just dose not work, also the keyboard shortcuts u+j dont work either, any ideas ?

Just a thought, is your keyboard set up for your country.
For example mine gets changed from ENG UK to ENG DV by accident, which changes some of the key mapping and affects key combinations.

Also don't yo have to hold down shift key to raise and lower paths?

that may help not looked into that thanks, and would that change mouse keybindings also though?, and yes holding shift allows me to raise and lower a path section, but wont allow me to start building steps to access raised section of path if that makes sense, its a steps issue im having realy can build paths high or ground level just unable to join said paths with steps

Do you have flatten terrain turned on?

@grampers62 tried with flatten terrain on and off still nothing, but then had a thought to try without allining to grid and that works lol, so problem solved i guess

shermz1987 - just an fyi- you can not use grid pieces to make stairs (if you look, you will see that the "curved slopes" option is grayed out when in align to grid mode). You can join an upper and lower grid with regular path stairs and get them to align with each other.
