Bongos & Okapi's can mix. Nyala's also go together as a trio since they have tropical biome adaptability.
Chimps & Gorillas can coexist. The Mandrills are a little trickier. But both species of Lemur can live with Chimps & Gorillas.
Hippos & Nile Monitors have compatible habitat terrain ratios -but I have never put them in an enclosure together with predation & fear active.
Elephants & Lions are similar with a bit of careful terrain negotiation (again not tested in anything except free-play)
You could theoretically mix Chimps, Gorillas, Lemurs, Pygmy Hippos, Bongos & Okapi into the same enclosure.
Bengal Tigers & Indian Elephants have similar terrain requirements so it is possible to house thm together. Whether these is actually feasible with predation & fear active is another matter altogether.
Gharials & Flamingos (again predation & fear might be a problem)
These are the combos I can remember working off the top of my head. I tend to stay away from Franchise mode out of a mix of creative freedom and intermittent internet connection (mostly the latter).
this is a spreadsheet with all that info excluding the last DLC
Or there is http://planetzoopedia.com/ just click the Expanded animal compatibility box if you'd like to see suggestions for animal compatibility that do not share a biome or continent.
So I know someone will reply and say "it does!, that's what the info panels show you" so to be clear what I mean is, based on some assumptions:
- max group size = 20 animals
- min area for 20 animals = 4,000m^2
- min area for 100% happiness for 20 animals = 6,000m^2 (let's call this the max area... ie any more doesn't bring benefit)
if I create an area of 15,000m^2 then why can't 2 groups exist and, on occasion, there may be territory battles and/or animals moving from group to the other enabling genetic diversity.
The scenario i'd love to achieve would be a pride of Lions with a roaming group of bachelors who may challenge for alpha status, creating an elderly single male or killing him off

Yeah thanks, aware of this and used before. What I mean, and if I am wrong then that would make me very happy, is that IF I make a huge enclosure why should i still be limited to 1 group? If I achieve an enclosure big enough to house the biggest group possible TWICE, then why couldn't 2 groups of the same species co-exist as they do in the wild
