Am I the only one who finds the Marketplace Prices (on animals sold by other players) unreasonably high and unfair?

Sadly, this can happen. Some players will try their luck and charge maximum price for an animal, usually with poor stats or low fertility

All you can do really is ignore these prices and browse the market carefully. I have found many bargains in the past of animals where I thought the price should have been much higher than the owner was asking.

The market board is always changing, so be patient, if you don't see any good prices try refreshing the page or come back in a few min.

Ya, you're right. but I just thought that we could get more people in the community to give a Good deal/Fairly price their animals so its easier for everyone, big and small zoos alike.

But I know the chances of this are slim, but i figured its better to do something than to do nothing and complain.

No, i realy think franchise is way too easy already.

Sometimes someone sells for too high a price (until they realize they won't sell), but overall the franchise is easily playable.

True the prices are sometimes too high but it actually has gotten a lot better than it was when the game was fairly new. I remember seeing a lot of people trying to get 10000 CC or more for common animals ussualy old and low stats. I dont know if the greedy people left or just chilled out. When I am in the market for a new species I start shopping before I build the habitat and just keep them in storage until ready.

Meh, all you need is a pride of 3-5 lions, a few nile monitor pairs and a couple cheetahs and you won't ever have to worry about CC or prices anymore. Let them breed, keep a few good females, release the rest to the wild, once the old ones get close to infertile age release those too and replace them with the ones you kept, get a new male, rinse and repeat.

Got me close to 2mil CC in no time and I really don't care what I sell/buy animals for anymore, not to mention that there are always some cheap Frontier Zoo options as well.

It can be really frustrating that all the 'good' animals are either not there or too expensive for you. And it can be really really disheartening if you're a newbie, all hyped from the career mode, trying your first franchise zoo, to realise you can afford nothing.

A few useful pieces of advice here: Firstly if you 'just' want your dream zoo, go sandbox.

Secondly: Red pandas. You can usually get a pair of ok genetics fairly cheaply. Start a breeding program. A very fertile pair can have 4 babies at a time, and will have several litters in their life time. Keep the best, sell the rest. Repeat until you have nothing but gold quality pandas.

Thirdly: The above should get you to the point where you can get some west-african lions. Preferably white ones as they sell better. You can have up to 39 females with one male (but females are more expensive, and feeding that many lions will bankrupt you fast).

Fourth: Melanistic jaguars are also good for conservation credits.

Of course this makes things a tad dull. ALL your zoos are overflowing with red pandas, lions and jaguars. I've taken to buying poor quality (but popular) animals for ingame money, and just breeding them till I get better quality ones.

Just got around 1.000.000 CC point so nah those 10 grand dosent worry me.

I sell most of my animals for 1 cc. I dont need them, hopefully someone who does gets the animal.

Hoi,

on the topic of market prices, I think most players aren't quite sure what a "fair" price is. For example, I usually determine the sell-price of an animal by simply adding a 0 to the price the game suggests to you in the trading screen. Say a peafowl is priced for 12 CP in the trading screen, I sell it for 120 CP ... if the game suggestes 7 CP, I sell it for 70 CP.

Yes thats why i startet a new Franchise Zoo only to breed animals with high stats and sell them for less than the suggestion

Like a West African Lion with get suggest for 900+ i put them in for 650 to 750

Fun fact people don't want them....Even if they have a fertility of 100% and rest between 70-85%
But if i put them in for the suggestion they buy them instantly.....:steamfacepalm:

Yes honestly I have no clue how to price my animals. The suggested price is usually way off. I tend to browse the animals and see what prices they're on average going for and sell around that. I'm still mostly a beginner, so I can't afford to sell my animals off much below market price.

It's annoying, but it happens. The last couple days I've just been waiting for Frontier to put up some female red ruffed lemurs for cash instead of cc. No luck yet.

Just looking for another couple females. I can't get on game right now though as I'm actually at my internship. I've just been checking here when I have to wait for feedback on something, lol. I'm down to 4cc right now but should also get my daily 100 later today.

Patience and not being too picky about the stats are important (I'm not saying you're being picky, or impatient, just saying it's necessary).

I do think that Frontier has a general amount they try to set animals at, by species and stats most likely. You'll find some species from them are always money or always CC, and some that are both at times (I think, anyways, on that last one, to be honest I'm not sure anymore?) They release animals every 7 to 9 minutes I believe, so sometimes you just have keep refreshing and be quick.

As far as other players, it depends on the animal, the species and the player. Certain animals are going to be very rare to go real cheap. And certain animals have lots of cheap ones in the market, but some players will still charge 10,000 for them. Which is their right, it's also your right to not pay for that.

I know i've been playing for 10 months but I have multiples of every animal in the game except for Polar Bears (never again but once, not in franchise!!) and bonobos (they are boring to me for some reason) and I've only paid over 1000 CC for any animals maybe a handful of times. Granted some of my "multiples" are bred and traded through my own zoos, but I've bought a lot off the market.

So just...be patient is the main thing.
