All Terrain Paints avaiable for all Biomes
I would really love to see, that all terrain paints could be used in all biomes. Specially when you build e.g. a tropical house I see no reason why I shouldn't use the tropical terrain paint.
Also it would give us more options to create a intresting habitat.

So my idea is, that Frontier could add a drop down menue in the Terrain option, where you can switch between the terrain paints by biome. So it don't get to complicated.
For placing habitats, they could add a button which says: fit to maps biomes paint or stay with original paint.

And now, feel free for any feedback.
Thanks :)

I agree. They should make it so that you can select the biome of the habitat by clicking on the habitat settings. Make it a sandmode option to test it and then roll it out.

fun fact, We had this feature in planet coaster after many asked for it. but of course like always, they removed this feature in planet zoo, dont know why.

Ha, shows how much I was paying attention when doing terrain, I didn't even realize this wasn't already a thing.

I think they did this to make the zoos feel more like zoos IRL where they dont really have the ability to put all new grass/ground cover types in a huge outdoor habitat. I dont know if that was completely the right descision, but I think its why they chose to do that. Honestly I do prefer this than having to use a specific ground cover like they did with Zoo Tycoon, it did make the zoo feel less realistic to me, but I can totally agree that you should have the option to use biome specific terrain paints if you want to.

Also they need to add a forest floor terrain for putting under trees especially in jungle habitats.

a game that promotes endless ways to be creative and build what you want shouldnt have such a limitation. players asked for it last game so why remove it? they could have had the same thought in planet coaster but it should have been clear by the moment players asked for it that there is no need for such limitation.

I don´t know, realistic environment is not really the thing. You also could not have any kind of tropical plants outdoors in zoos in colder regions and vice versa, because they couldn´t handle the temperature. And in the game you need to do so, to give the animals their natural habitat they want to have. So that is also not the most realistic factor. And while animals not even feed on the plants, they shouldn´t even care what kind of plants are growing there, when there is enough cover for them. Back to the topic, I would like to see this, it looks kind of weird, when African savannah animals walk on saturated greenish grass in a zoo. I would like to see the option to use every terrain paint everywhere. You can still decide what kind of terrain you like to use then, so no big problem for anybody if this feature is present.

what the other guy means by tropical terrain paint is, the paint brushes you get when you start a zoo in a tropical biome. Right now the different paints are all locked to a biome, so to use tropial paints you need tropic biome :)

Idk if it should be in franchise mode but, for sandbox where the point is to be as creative as possible they should absolutely do it.

If it may be in the works already, it might just be a nightmare on the animals recognizing the different terrain types from different biomes or it might be a programing thing which I can also understand.
