(But i have to say i never tried to stay in negative, and i never was in all my franchise zoos)
It's so much easier... for example -> buy Frontier Animals for Money / Low Points and Release them ... i had so much giraffes with 2 stars and more from that...
Also i released my older ones from regular breeding ... it was not that hard to become one of the best 10% (Gold) ...

"What would be realistic is once you enter a negatief bank valeu:
1. Keepers cant prep food anymore. ( No deliverys )
2. Employees go on strike. ( no salaries )
3. Employees quite, Animals Die ( or can get confiscated by the inspector )
4. Park will be closed by curators because of bankrupcy."
That would be nice! Challengemode without challenge (money) makes no sense... it's the same with all this inbreeding animals (0 stats) in the market... nobody should be allowed to sell inbreeded animals...
Also dropping into negative should be fixed in my opinion. thats why i opened up this topic :P
I usually use an existing zoo, but I don't see any reason someone can't start a new one.
If I'm serious about the challenge I set up 5-6 breeding pens, if I don't have the required animals then I have to buy them. I had neither orangutan nor giraffes before the challenges.....
The challenge requires breeding as many as you can, so obviously I breed the animals, and the challenge is often to release them, but even if it's not you need to sell or release surplus stock.
Do you mean that you should just run your zoo as normal and if you happen to breed/release the required animals that's all that should count?
I'm genuinely interested as I honestly don't think that deliberately breeding for the challenge is a cheat.
The breeding with 6 pens isnt the problem. running into the red numbers wile doing so is,
im more questioning the financial espect. As long the numbers are above negatieve i would say good job. But abusing the negatieve numbers is a thing to look at
I'm back in the black now, but it took a long time, and to be honest, the rewards weren't worth it. I only released 4 giraffes in this one.
I don't consider that I cheated, businesses go into the red all the time, but it felt like bad business practice and just wasn't fun. For that reason, the system will self regulate, because I won't be doing that again and I don't think many people will do it often. Getting your zoo back is too much hard work.
