Bedding Animal Habitat stays red
So some animals just dont seem to require bedding / shelter?

I remember i think tapir not needing any bedding either. Flamingo too. It just stays red no matter how much bedding you place (under shelter)

So now i try for the crocodile. He needs no shelter so the shelter bar is green.
However bedding is red. I add a plank in the sky and check shelter. There is shelter.
I add bedding right under it (tried both hay and leaves, large and small) but it just stays red.
Probably cause it doesnt NEED bedding. But its annoying its red. It should be green like shelter if the animal doesnt require it! I just CTRL+Zed the floating plank away.....

Did you check if he can access it?

Well obviously he can access it i did check that. I just dont think it has anything to do with it... It just doest require bedding > it stays red. That bugs me.
Same with flamingo for example. Has anyone been able to get this bar green for these animals?

What bedding bar are you talking about? The only bars I see on the animal's tab are for hard shelter. And, yes, some animals (like ostrich) get a 100% green on shelter bar with no shelter because they do not need shelter. Sorry, I must be missing something.

there are four bars on the habitat bar. Feeders Water Shelter and Bedding.
Feeders is often red too cause apparently Keepers only fill em when animals are hungry...

Ah, that one. That is habitat item capacity. It checks to see if those listed items are there for the animal. Since an ostrich does not need a hard shelter, it will show green as soon as you put in the ostrich but the bedding is still missing (even though the ostrich does not need it but can use it) until you put some bedding down. It is like the feeders- they stay red after you put them in until a keeper adds food even though the animal is not hungry when you add it to the habitat.
So it is item capacity and not necessarily an indication of the animal's needs at that time. Anyway, this is how I understand it and I just check on the animal tab to see what it really needs.
