How do I know what diseases to research?
The zoopedia doesn't tell me what animals can get what disease, so I have no idea what to actually research in this regard.

You don't as far as I can tell, other than if you have birds then Avian Flu would be better than Cowpox. Diseases seem to be pretty rare anyway and your animals still get healed even if you don't have the proper research. It just takes a bit longer but is not a big deal.

Eventually you'll want to research them all, but what you're really doing when you research is decreasing the likelihood that your animals will get that particular disease (each level decreases the probability.) It still happens from time to time, but not very often.

And as Razamanaz said, certain diseases may be more geared to certain types of animals. You may want to look them up on the internet to determine what's what, but (and I'm sorry I'm not in game right now so I don't have the exact names) but the swine fever one is more for your warthogs, avian flu would be the birds, hoof and mouth would be any hoofed animals, the simian one is your apes and monkeys, and there's a canine one in there for the canines. I'm not sure, can't remember if there's one for just cats? So you might want to think about what you're planning to try and get, and research the diseases for that first.

But, like I said at the beginning, you'll want to research them all. The good news is, since the April 7th update, all research carries over through all franchises, so you'll now only have to research each disease once, instead of in every zoo.
