I guess you mean 2 seperate placed stations connect with each other with Rails? This doesnt works. Every station is a closed Building itself.
You must be placed first Station, build the Track and than Switch the Button to build another one after the last piece of Track and than build again Track after the second Station to the first one.

Hi totalwarzone is correct, you have to build the whole thing in one hit here is what I did if it helps

1. Place your first station and extensions to it , you can edit this OK, so adjust the height to what you want and ensure you can place the paths to connect to it, you don't need to connect the paths at this point. by extensions I mean the length of the overall station

2. Select the front of your station, set it to the rail icon and start laying your track use the left and right to position the track where you want it. i'd leave the up and down for the mo, I click in front of the track to lay it down, keep re positioning the track then lay the next bit down. It's at this point the angle selection is handy setting, set it to 30% with 3 bends you can get a 90% bend set it back to 0 to get a straight line. one thing here your first placing of the station is where the track can return to

3. When you are where you want to place your second station and its extensions, change the icon to the station icon if you wish add more track and more stations then complete the track connection.

4. When the track is complete ensure they all have power

5. Connect all the paths to the stations you may need to click on the station and the station icon to change which side the paths can connect to

6. I also turned off ground and other collisions as sometimes it won't place the stations

hope that helps a bit
