Paths Are Curving When Not Wanted

When ever I try to make my path go up or down it ALWAYS tries to curve it. How do I stop it from turning/curving when I try to go up or down?

Check your path tab options. It sounds like you have the curved slopes checked.

You can hit 'V' on the keyboard during your path building to turn sloped curves on or off. Its easier and faster than stopping to manually change it.
